Ginger Miso Marinated Black Cod
Ingredients
• 4 (4-oz) pieces of black cod
• 2 tbsp mirin
• 2 tbsp cooking sake
• 2 tbsp white miso paste
• 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
• 2 cloves garlic, grated
Instructions
1. In a small bowl, whisk together the miso, mirin, and sake until smooth. Stir in the grated ginger and garlic.
2. Place the black cod fillets in a shallow container or resealable bag. Pour the miso marinade over the fish, making sure all surfaces are evenly coated.
3. Cover and refrigerate for at least 24 hours, up to 48 hours for deeper flavor.
4. When ready to cook, preheat the broiler on high and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
5. Remove the fish from the marinade and gently wipe off the excess with your fingers or paper towels (no need to rinse).
6. Place the fillets on the prepared baking sheet and broil for 10-12 minutes, until the tops are golden brown and the fish flakes easily with a fork.
7. Serve hot with rice and your favorite sides. I severed with forbidden rice, roasted cabbage/carrots, and avocado.
