Many thanks to Eel River Wailaki for being part of the peace pole celebration and providing their local Native language for the pole.

Board members of the Eel River Wailaki were asked to be a part of the installation of a Peace Pole in the center of the Garberville Town Square. The installation happened on Sunday, September 21st, coinciding with the United Nations International Day of Peace.

Trunk-Or-Treat on the Garberville Town Square: Gather your friends, family, and neighbors to join the fun. Decorate your car trunks with Halloween decorations and fill them with candy for the kids. It’s a great opportunity for everyone to have a good time. If you plan to participate in the Trunk-Or-Treat, please arrive early to allow for set-up.

Save the date! Friends of the Lost Coast is thrilled to announce that after last year’s smashing success, we are once again hosting Natural Science Day at Garberville Town Square! Join us on September 25th from 12PM-5PM for an afternoon with fun activities, arts and crafts, informational booths, and of course, science! This is a free event for inquisitive minds of all ages to celebrate the equinox with a showcase of natural science and the arts. This year will feature nature inspired art activities led by Stephani Lusak, Laci Dane, and Serenity Wood.

We’re thrilled to be joined by BLM King Range, CA State Parks, Sequoia Park Zoo, Humboldt Redwoods Interpretive Association, Eel River Wailaki, Humboldt County Library, Cal Poly Humboldt Natural History Museum, Sanctuary Forest, Sequoia Park Zoo, Eel River Recovery Project, Redwood Discovery Museum and the Northern Mendocino Ecosystem Recovery Alliance, with food and drink concessions by Whale Gulch School. We can’t wait to see everyone for another fun filled day on the Square (located near 766 Locust St. in Garberville). Stay tuned for more details!
