Well… apparently we’ve got some competition 🫎😂

Tante Emma is coming to Boise and people are talking — just not quite as much as they’re talking about the moose touring Downtown.

Fair enough. She got there first 😍

But seriously: we are absolutely overwhelmed by all the love, support, excitement, and wonderful feedback about Tante Emma coming to Boise. You guys have made us smile A LOT these past few days!

From the bottom of our little German hearts: THANK YOU!!!! 🇩🇪❤️ We cannot wait to take you along for this adventure

And a little Garden Valley housekeeping while we have your attention:
starting tomorrow, August 17th, Tante Emma Garden Valley will be closed Monday through Wednesday. We’ll be back serving you Thursday through Sunday

Something BIG is happening… 👀🇩🇪

Tante Emma Garden Valley is getting a big sister!
Yes — there will soon be a second Tante Emma, right in Downtown Boise ❤️

We don’t have an opening date to share just yet. There’s still a LOT to do before this old, dusty space feels anything like the warm, cozy, home-like Tante Emma you know and love. Walls will change. Floors will change. A kitchen and, yes, a b**r bar have to be designed. And little by little, this empty space will become a place filled with German food, cold b**r, laughter and a whole lot of Gemütlichkeit.

And of course we want to take you along for the entire ride.
Over the coming weeks and months, we’ll be sharing regular peeks behind the scenes — the renovation, the decisions, the surprises, the progress… and probably a little chaos along the way 😄

But before we show you anything else, we have a question:

☀️ Summer may still be going strong, but Tante Emma is switching back to her “winter” hours!

Starting August 17, we’ll be closed on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and open Thursday through Sunday.

We’re incredibly proud of our small, hands-on team — many of whom are local students — and we would much rather adjust our hours than stretch them too thin or compromise the standards we care so much about ❤️

That also gives us some extra time to prep, recharge and make sure the schnitzel, brats and spätzle are ready for you, while focusing on something new that’s coming soon… We can’t wait to share it with you 🤭
