Hello Friends, Jeremiah here. I have some news I would like to share with everyone.
It is with a very heavy heart that I am announcing that our shop Lowcountry Butcher will be closing its doors at the end of the month. (1/31/25)
This decision did not come lightly, nor is it easy at all to say these words out loud.
When I opened back in October 2018 it was with the hope and dreams that the legacy Joseph Hughes left behind would be carried on along with my dream to keep the art of butchery alive and well in this community.
The workload at the store has resulted in some health issues for me, and the ups and downs with the food market has a big effect on our closing. I feel as though my hands have been tied.
We have done everything we can to keep this shop open during all the changes in this country, but the days of having a local butcher have morphed into something much different.
I want you all to know that it has been a huge honor to serve our community for the time that we have. And that our customers will always have a place in my heart.
We want to take this opportunity to extend our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you. Your unwavering support, daily visits, and all the many kind words have kept us going. Whether you were a loyal customer or someone who simply walked through our doors out of curiosity, you contributed something to our atmosphere that we cherished.
As we prepare to close our doors, we would like to ask our community to continue supporting the local businesses that make our area unique. Each shop, restaurant, and vendor contribute to the fabric of our community, and we hope you will uplift these establishments during these challenging times.
We will be open for our final days of service. We want to invite you to come in, share your memories with us and to say goodbye. Your presence would mean a lot to us as we conclude this chapter. I can't thank you enough for everything our customers have contributed over the years, it has been an honor.
With heartfelt appreciation, Jeremiah, Malorie & Mrs. Lori.
(I ask for understanding and patience on me and my small team during this time as we work on finishing the month out and doing our best to sell what belongings are in the store. I will be selling everything in the building including machinery, coolers, and any decor up front/furniture. Please reach out to us through Facebook message or text my cell @ 843-359-5918 if you or anyone you know is interested in these types of things.)
