Yesterday was a big day. After months of work, we were finally able to begin planting. The first planting of tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, basil, and flowers is complete. Just in time for a rainy weekend. Special thanks to Drew Fettes of Francis Road Farm for keeping us on track by loaning us a tractor after one of ours broke down.

We have begun making our planting beds. Plants in the ground hopefully Friday.

Today we plowed in the compost we spread last week using our 1959 International Farmall 560. Hopefully the fence will be completed this week and we can plant next week.

This week we added leaf compost to amend the soil. It is our goal to use as little synthetic fertilizer/products raising our vegetables as possible. The leaf compost will be great organic matter added to the soil.

We have been working to get the field ready for planting. New deer fence to be installed this week while we amend the soil. We cannot wait to start planting!
