Every May the lilacs open for about two weeks.

Not longer. Not on request. Just — two weeks, and then they're done.

I've been thinking about that lately. The things in our lives that have a window. The creative practice waiting for a Tuesday with room in it. The retreat you've been circling for longer than you'd like to admit.

This spring we're offering $200 off our three spring retreats at the Connecticut River Valley Inn — a week in this place, in this season, with a small group of creatives who came here to create, rest, be genuinely looked after, and find the kind of company that's hard to come by in ordinary life.

The lilacs won't last, but this offer is good until the start date of each retreat.
