The countdown is officially onâjust two markets remain in the 2025 season! As we wrap up another incredible year at CFM, nowâs the time to soak in the final weekends of fresh produce, handcrafted goods, and community spirit. Whether youâve been a regular all season or are planning one last visit, these final two markets are your chance to stock up, say thank you to your favorite vendors, and celebrate everything that makes our market so special. Donât miss the last hurrahâcome out and make the most of the season before we say goodbye until next year!
The CFM season may be winding down, but the good news is the Coventry Winter Farmersâ Market is gearing up to begin! Run by our sister organization (not usâweâll be taking a well-earned break), CWFM celebrates its 11th year indoors at Coventry High School, Sundays from 10am to 12:30pm. Their 2025â2026 season kicks off November 2 and runs through February 22, featuring many familiar faces from summer plus exciting new vendors. Want to learn more? CWFM will be joining us in the field this Sunday to share all the details about their upcoming seasonâstop by and say hello!
This Sunday from 10AM to 1PM, the Nathan Hale Homestead will be hosting not one but two special programs! First up is traditional cider pressingâpostponed from last weekendâwhere you can watch fresh cider being made the old-fashioned way. Alongside that, donât miss the 18th-century blacksmith demonstration, offering a glimpse into the craftsmanship of the colonial era. Both programs are free to attend, with donations welcome to support future events. While you're there, take a guided tour of the historic Nathan Hale Homestead Museum, open Fridays and Saturdays from 12PM to 4PM and Sundays from 10AM to 1PM, with tours departing on the hour. Itâs a perfect way to step back in time and experience Connecticutâs Revolutionary War heritage in action.
With just two markets left in our season, nowâs the time to make your final contributions to our annual fall/winter clothing drive benefiting Manchester Area Conference of Churches (MACC) and the Covenant Soup Kitchen. Weâre collecting new and freshly laundered, gently used cold-weather essentialsâthink winter coats, scarves, hats, socks, mittens, and glovesâto help keep our neighbors warm this season. Donations can be dropped off at the Market info tent through the end of October. Every item makes a difference, and your generosity helps support local families in need. Letâs finish strong and spread warmth together!
Looking for a fun, locally-inspired gift? Our super-soft, dog-themed t-shirts are backâjust $25 for short-sleeve and $30 for long-sleeve. Theyâre perfect for showing off your pup pride and make fantastic holiday presents for the dog lovers in your life (or a treat for yourself!). Animals at the Market
Per our health dept., dogs are the ONLY animals allowed at the market. No pigs, birds, cats, ferrets, rabbits, goats, rats, etc. Therefore, we will ask you to leave if you bring a non-canine to CFM.
Well-trained, well-socialized, leashed dogs are welcome, but please observe the market rules:
1. Watch to make sure your dog doesn't p*e on vendor tablecloths or displays.
2. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR DOG IN YOUR VEHICLE. We will call the police if we see a dog in a vehicle without an owner.
3. Scoop the p**p!
4. Not everyone feels comfortable around dogs so keep your dog close to you and guide your dog accordingly.
Market Tips
Enjoy the curvy country roads, but please keep to the posted sp*ed limits.
Many vendors accept credit cards, but it's a good idea to bring cash because not all of them do, and sometimes internet/data is tricky in the country.
Sales begin at 10:00 but we have some vendors approved to sell breakfast items before 10:00. You're welcome to arrive earlier, grab some coffee and breakfast --- and a great parking space!
We are a non-smoking property - No smoking anywhere on the grounds of CFM or the Homestead.
If you have a handicapped permit or someone with you who has mobility challenges, let our parking volunteers know and they'll do their best to assist with finding you a close space.
Dispose of your trash properly and not on the ground or in the parking field.
Want to become an expert at the CFM parking lot? We have some tips.
Vendors with breakfast items can sell before 10 so we recommend arriving around 9:30. Or perhaps just a bit later for 11:30 in time for an amazing lunch.
If you are one of the early birds or joining us for yoga, please park in the front row where cars have already parked, not in the wide open field.
If you come after 11:30, don't stop at the back of the field!! By then the early birds have shopped and on their way home to cook so there are spots up front. That will help keep the street stoppage down.
Look for and listen to the volunteers. They have red shirts and flags. We appreciate the smiles, kind words, water bottles and general love for them out there. We have amazing market goers and your kindness truly keeps them fueled to come back each week.
Come with some patience. We know sometimes the traffic is frustrating, but sadly we have to say this. Do not be aggressive inside or outside of the parking lot. The volunteers are helping - no growling, erratically driving around them, insulting them, or generally being a bad human. We are volunteers spending a Sunday in the hot and dusty parking field to help make your market experience all it should be.
If you are not familiar with the area - have your GPS handy when you are leaving. Sometimes we have to send you right outside of the parking lot. It is easy to get back around in a wider loop and trust us - you will thank us for not having to sit in the road.
Watch for rocks. Nathan Hale's family worked around them and we can too! They are painted bright orange.
Pedestrians - you have a job in our success too!!
Please be aware of the cars around you on the road and on the field.
When crossing the car paths, please do it quickly and walk on the sides where possible.
If you are coming from the historical society parking lot near the entrance to the main parking field, please use the cones creating a crosswalk or up near the fire department's staff near the food trucks.
