Fika Farmstead Bakery

Fika Farmstead Bakery Professional pastry chef since 2010, cottage baker since 2015, specialize in scandinavian style Danish similar to croissants.

Farmstand bakery coming spring 2026 🤞 The dream is to one day buy 1-5 acres of land, be self sustainable providing flavored goods with fruits and veggies grown on the farm where mostly flour and sugars are what I need to get from the store. Until then I grow as much as I can at my small home just outside the twin cities.

Exciting news!!!! We’re applying for a small business loan to purchase a bakery space! We’re still working on the loan, but also need to realistically think about childcare for our 2 littles regardless if we get the commercial space or pivot back to the Farmstand shed renovation we were going to be doing. So to help with that, we started a gofundme in hopes we can find our village and community that wants to help support us at the core 💕 anything is welcome 🙏

I graduated culinary school in 2010 and started a bakery stand in 2015… Angela Smoger needs your support for Support Fika Farmstand & Bakery's Childcare Needs

Hey all!

I’m looking for local, small business producers to use. I have a vision for my micro bakery that brings together more local artisans, other bakers, farmers, and producers.

I have been a pastry chef for 15 years and run a cottage food stand for the past 10. I am rebranding from the micro bakery I started in the cities and moving closer to my dream of a more community supported bakery that focuses around Fika (the Swedish tradition of taking a moment to enjoy the moment with your peers over coffee and treats) I hope to go commercial within the next few years but until then I will be using our small homestead in Glencoe we purchased almost 2 years ago to do what we can.

So I dream to offer a subscription model box to locals encasing products from my homestead and bakery and at least one item from another local. I also hope to switch to local ingredients to make my goods. What I’m in search of:

Coffee roasters

Meat (all kinds, cured would be phenomenal)

Egg farmers (for when my own hens, ducks, and quail don’t produce enough)

Dairy (must be pasteurized: milk, cream, kefir, butter, yogurt)

Cheese (cow, goat, sheep)

Artisans (open to anything!)

If you know of anyone or fit in the category yourself then comment or dm! Let’s work together to grow and be seen by more people! I’m just a small micro bakery right now, so my orders for your goods with be small. I’m still working out the details of the box, but I think I’d like to keep it around $10 for the colab portion of the monthly box that I’d end up selling for about $50. And if you’re interested in following the happenings of the curated boxes then also shoot me a DM so you can stay up to date as I work out the kinks and hopefully start this for December at the latest!

Thank you all!

I’m finally working on some big changes! The last year ive been focusing on my two littles, the homestead, and where I want my micro bakery to go. I’ve been pretty quiet on social media besides my TikTok page (definitely go check it out for behind the scenes content!) as I try to figure out what I want.

And I know what it is. I want to be a community pillar. I want people to come for Fika: a Swedish tradition engraved in their culture to stop and live in the moment with their family, friends, colleagues and share a cup of coffee/tea and delicious treats.

I’ve always wanted to connect more to my Scandinavian roots and centering my micro bakery around just that is the best way to connect and bring my community together. We’re starting out small, renovating the shed on our 2 acres to house a bigger kitchen and a Farmstand that I hope to sell my baked goods, coffee, and self serve dirty soda bar on a pay what you can model because I believe every income deserves to experience Fika. I hope to grow into a commercial space within 2-5 years and hire ethically, focusing on the lower income families and our often forgotten lgbtq and disabled peers.

I hope you’ll all support our families micro bakery as we shift from the Poplolli stand that allowed me to buy groceries and start paying down debt, to the Fika Farmstand and Bakery that I hope will not only uplift my family, but the entire community we reside 💕
