As we celebrate Our Nation's Independence, I wonder how much different what we eat today is as opposed to then. More/less, Better/worse and how? We feed a much larger population with much less ground. There are tradeoffs to everything but if you are looking for good quality, locally home grown food for your family, swing by the Glenwood Farmers Market to fill your shopping list. Rhubarb, cauliflower, cabbage, peas, spinach, breads, organic jams, honey, canned goods and some of the incredible sustainably caught Alaskan salmon. Let us know what you think on the difference in foods then and now.

I came across this is in my reading today: "If something has to be 'fortified' or 'enriched,' you can bet it was dead to begin with." That's why it's so important to have as much of your diet consist of unprocessed, raw, organically-grown fruits and veggies--kind of like what we'll have for you at this year's farmer's market;-) See you then! --Farmer Dave

Farmer Dave here. How's the winter going for everyone? We could sure use some more snow. I just read that Aspen had a record low snowfall in January. I hope you're looking forward to the spring market as much as I am. In the meantime, I have a side of Scottish Highland beef for sale. I can do the whole side (190 pounds), a quarter (95 pounds) or individual cuts. First come, first served. Give me a call: 970.404.7086.
