šŸˆ COLLEGE FOOTBALL SATURDAY = BAKING DAY! šŸŖ

It’s been HOT, HOT, HOT, so I’ll admit… the baking around here has slowed down just a little.

But today?

Greg has officially monopolized the TV with college football, so I figured I might as well monopolize the kitchen. šŸ˜‚

And apparently once I started, I forgot how to stop.

Today’s baking list:

šŸ« Double Chocolate Muffins
šŸ¤Ž Cinnamon Twist Rolls
šŸŖ Snickerdoodles
šŸŖ Chocolate Chip Cookies
šŸž Cinnamon Bread
🌽 Cornbread Cookies
šŸ« Brownies
🄧 Cobbler
šŸž And fresh-baked bread!

So Greg has football.

I have flour all over the kitchen.

And by the end of the day, Koons Homestead Market will be stocked back up. ā¤ļø

Honestly, everybody wins.

Happy Saturday from Koons Homestead Market! 🌻

Coffee and a Verse

I’ve spent some time lately wondering if I’m doing this faith thing right.

Why can’t I hear God the way other people say they do?

Why haven’t I experienced some great, earth-shattering spiritual moment?

And somewhere along the way, all those questions started making me feel like maybe I wasn’t enough.

Then this week, something in my brain clicked and my heart felt lighter.

He’s my Father.

I love my children unconditionally. Not because they do everything right. Not because they never disappoint me, question things or make mistakes.
I love them because they’re mine.
Always and forever.

And God’s love is greater than mine.

Then this morning, Galatians 5:22–23 showed up as the verse on my phone.

Love.
Joy.
Peace.
Patience. (Lord knows I need plenty of that one!)
Kindness.
Goodness.
Faithfulness.
Gentleness.
Self-control.

And I thought, Yes. That’s the life I want to keep growing toward.
Not because there’s a law forcing me to check every box.

But because, boy oh boy, life is sweeter when those things grow in us.

I don’t know if I’ll ever speak in tongues.

I don’t know if I’ll ever have the gift of prophecy or some great spiritual wisdom.

I don’t know if I’ll ever hear God’s voice the way some people describe hearing Him.

Maybe I’ll never have an earth-shattering moment of faith.

But I know this:

I have God.

And that’s enough.

There was a woman in the Bible who believed that if she could only touch the edge of Jesus’ garment, that would be enough.

She reached for Him in faith.

Maybe that’s what I’m learning.

I don’t need someone else’s experience with God to prove my own.

I just need to keep reaching for Jesus.

And when my faith gets shaky, when I question, when I get inside my own head or when I stumble, it doesn’t mean I’ve suddenly become unworthy of His love.

It means I know where to run.

Back to my Father.

This week I finally stopped trying so hard to figure everything out.

I let go.

And I let God.

And my heart feels lighter.

My faith may not always look like someone else’s.

But my faith is in Jesus.

And His faithfulness holds me.

🧵🪔 ā¤ļø CALLING ALL ā€œMEMAW MAKERS!ā€

Are you one of those people who looks at something old and thinks…

ā€œWell, I’m certainly not throwing THAT away!ā€

Do you make things that are a little vintage, a little quirky, maybe repurposed, handmade, crocheted, quilted, painted, sewn, thrown on a pottery wheel… or simply something you won’t find sitting on a shelf at a big-box store?

We’re looking for you!

This fall, we’re adding a little Makers’ Cupboard to Koons Homestead Market—a place for local makers to share and sell their creations.

And when we say maker, we mean ANYONE who makes! ā¤ļø

You don’t need to own a business.
You don’t need a fancy logo.
You don’t need professional packaging.
You don’t even need to call yourself an artist.

And you don’t even have to be a Memaw! šŸ˜‚

Maybe you’re a kid making things in your bedroom.

Maybe you’re a grandma quilting at night while you watch TV.

Maybe you’re a grandpa tinkering in the garage or woodshop.

Maybe you have a book full of sketches that just need a vintage frame.

Or maybe, like me, you’re someone who sees an old, forgotten thing and thinks…

ā€œI can do something with that!ā€

We want to see it!

Pottery, quilts, crochet, sewing, woodworking, folk art, jewelry, repurposed treasures, seasonal creations, and wonderfully odd little things that don’t quite fit into a category.

New things made the old-fashioned way.
Old things given a new purpose.
Handmade things that are perfectly imperfect. ā¤ļø

If you make something with your own two hands and think it might belong at Koons Homestead Market, send us a message and show us what you make!

There might just be a little shelf in The Makers’ Cupboard waiting for you. 🌻

Coffee & a Verse

Sometimes there are so many voices telling us what faith is supposed to look like that we begin to wonder if we’re doing it right.

Am I faithful enough?
Do I give enough?
Do I serve enough?
Do I pray enough?

And before long, we’re looking everywhere except at the One our faith was supposed to be resting in.

Jesus.

Today I’m reminding myself that my faith doesn’t have to look exactly like someone else’s faith.

I can listen, learn, be corrected, grow and I can even wrestle with questions. But through all of it, I can remain anchored in what I know:

God loves me.
Jesus saved me.
His grace is enough.
And I can trust Him.

Being anchored doesn’t mean never having questions. It means when the waves come,
It simply keeps us from being carried away.

Maybe that’s faith sometimes.

Not having every answer. Not understanding every message.
Not knowing exactly where the journey is taking us.

Just knowing Who we’re anchored to.

So today, if your faith feels a little tossed around, don’t panic.

Hold steady.

Keep praying.

Keep seeking Jesus.

You don’t have to have everything figured out today.

The waves may move you.

Your Anchor won’t.
