Breaded Cauliflower Cutlets
Ingredients:
1 head of cauliflower
1 cup bread crumbs
½ cup all-purpose flour
2 large eggs
¼ cup milk
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons olive oil
Directions:
Preheat Oven:
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
Prepare the Breading Station:
2. In one shallow bowl, place the flour.
3. In a second shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk.
4. In a third shallow bowl, combine the bread crumbs, dried Italian seasoning, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.
Bread the Cauliflower:
5. Cut the cauliflower into florets.
6. Dredge each cauliflower floret in the flour, shaking off any excess.
7. Dip the floured cauliflower into the egg mixture, ensuring it is fully coated.
8. Press the cauliflower into the bread crumb mixture, coating it evenly and pressing the crumbs onto the cauliflower to adhere well.
Cook the Cauliflower:
9. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
10. Add the breaded cauliflower florets to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
Bake the Cauliflower:
11. Transfer the browned cauliflower florets to the prepared baking sheet.
12. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cauliflower is tender and the coating is crispy.
Serve:
13. Serve the Breaded Cauliflower Cutlets hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
