Pigs don't sweat. If they get too hot their brain literally swells until it has nowhere to go, and the pig dies. Mud accomplishes 2 things for pigs: it cools them off, and it also provides sunscreen. So all of our pigs have mudholes once the outside temperatures get into the upper 70's and for sure by the time it's 80 degrees. Some pigs like to drink from the hose, some pigs like sprayed with water, some wait patiently nearby for their wallow to fill.

Baby pears growing on the big tree, the first calla lily bloom, dahlia blooms, and if you squint & hold your tongue just right there is a flicker of red on some of the maters.

This is Repeat. The original Pete was located in the garage behind the freezer many years ago. We still see Pete from time to time, and especially in the evenings have learned to look for her before just barging through the door. Judging from the various skins we find throughout the year there are periodic Baby Pete's too. Bullsnake or Ratsnake we don't know, we are just glad to have Pete and all the Repeats around to help with mice.

These two girls are quite the clowns. Fun, friendly clowns. They will be a year old next month. Since they are still here we will most likely breed them this fall for spring babies.

There are some things Suzanne doesn't like but could eat if she had to. However, sardines & raw oysters are a complete "no". 2 points for Suzanne.

Making bee progress today!
Treating for varroa mites, just in case. Changing the entrance from the small size to the bigger size.
