๐Ÿ“ข๐ŸŽ‰2026 is the International Year of the Woman Farmer! Weโ€™re spotlighting a few of our awe-inspiring Berkshire area farmers and growers.

We're continuing our celebration this week by taking a look at Rana Boland of Flycatcher Farm! Farm is a small cut flower farm in Great Barrington, MA. The farm is passionate about regenerative and organic growing practices and is committed to nurturing the land. They specialize in quality, seasonal and hyper-local, specialty cut flowers perfect for special occasions or to simply enjoy in your home. From carefully selecting what they apply to their plants to minimizing plastic use and thoughtfully wrapping their blooms, sustainability and high quality are at the heart of everything they do. ๐Ÿ“ข๐ŸŽ‰2026 is the International Year of the Woman Farmer! Weโ€™re spotlighting a few of our incredible Berkshire area women farmers and growers.

Our next featured farmer is Alison Basdekis of . Nestled in the Lebanon Valley between the Berkshires and the Hudson Valley surrounded by creeks and forest, her farm raises poultry in silvopasture, grows herbs, select annual vegetables, nursery stock and manages an emerging multispecies orchard. ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸŒพ๐Ÿ’

You can see her care and intention in her farmโ€™s pasture raised whole and cut chicken, turmeric, ginger, flowers, herbs, nut trees and more every other week . Weโ€™re proud to celebrate Alison and Shaker Creek Farm!. ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ“

๐Ÿ“ข๐ŸŽ‰2026 is the International Year of the Woman Farmer! Weโ€™re spotlighting a few of our incredible Berkshire area women farmers and growers.

Our first featured farmer is Mary Berle of a sheep farm on 400 acres in Great Barrington, Alford and Egremont. The flock provides nourishing food, warm wool and the manure to grow extraordinary flowers. ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸŒพ๐Ÿ’

You can find her pasture raised lamb meat and yarn , her lamb meat and sweaters at our Winter Farmers Markets and her lamb meat . Weโ€™re proud to celebrate Mary and her farm, her dedication and care shows in everything she does. ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘

A few shots from Berkshire Grownโ€™s Winter Farmers Market 2025-2026 season. Many thanks to all the vendors and shoppers (over 5,200 attendees!) who made this yearโ€™s markets such a success. Over $21,000 of SNAP/HIP and Market Match was distributed. Funding for the Market Match is provided by the Berkshire Agricultural Ventures Market Match Fund.
