Get this extra lean ground beef. Perfect for Taco Tuesday or Labor Day Cookout

We have double packs of ribs ready for Labor Day. The last days of summer are a perfect time for ribs.

Assistant Manager Nazir told me these old-school Hug drinks are flying out of the store. Perfect for that Labor Day party with kids.

Earthbound Organic Baby Romaine is my favorite salad green.

Stock up on this chicken stock, as fall is coming.

This Herdez Taqueria Street Taco Sauce is so good. You need to try it.

My favorite fruits of the season are these pluots. The old song says, "It takes two to make a thing go right." Well, that is what a pluot is: a plum and an apricot.

Amish cauliflower is so good when roasted with a little salt and olive oil.

I love our seedless watermelon. I talked to a customer and showed her how to pick a watermelon. Remember to look for the yellow marks and a small stem.

Check out our ice cream. Look at this Breyers. We have really high-quality ice cream.

We will be open Labor Day, Monday, September 7, from 10 AM to 3 PM.

Thank you to U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and our Bargain Grocery Troy customers.

We’re thankful Senator Gillibrand took the time to visit Bargain Grocery Troy, listen to our team, and learn more about the challenges facing families in Troy, throughout the Capital Region, and in food desert communities across New York.

We were also grateful to have Assemblymember John McDonald and New York State Senator Patricia Fahy join us for the visit.

During her visit, we shared with Senator Gillibrand how rising food costs are affecting working families, those who rely on SNAP, seniors living on fixed incomes, veterans, and many others who are doing everything they can to stretch their grocery budgets.

To our Troy customers, thank you.

Bargain Grocery exists because people believe families should have access to fresh, nutritious, affordable food while being able to shop with dignity and choice.

Every time you shop with us, tell a neighbor about us, bring someone new into the store, or like and share one of our posts, you help more people discover what we do.

That growing awareness helps policymakers and civic leaders better understand our mission. It also introduces food companies and corporations to our work, opening the door to partnerships that allow us to continue providing affordable food to our community.

Special thanks to our partners who work with us throughout the Capital Region, including Sidewalk Warriors, Pastor Charlie Muller of Victory Church, and Rabbi Barry Fienman of Jezreel International, for joining us and for the work they continue to do in our communities.

We also want to thank Buck Bobbin, Capital Region Regional Director in Senator Gillibrand’s office, and Kylie Nolan, Capital Region Regional Assistant, for helping make the visit possible.

Thank you, Senator Gillibrand, for visiting, listening, and bringing attention to the challenges families are facing.

And thank you to every Bargain Grocery Troy customer who continues to support our mission.

OMG. We have restaurant-grade Crab Legs. They are fully cooked and frozen in 2 lb packs. These are Canadian wild-caught and they are incredible. They are not like the kind you get at a buffet where you have to fight everyone to get a leg and then fight the crab leg to get the meat out. Check comments for more details ⬇

We have pineapples that are ready to be eaten or made into jam. Our Amish customers have been buying cases of these. Check comments for details ⬇

Amish corn. Delicious, almost like candy. ⬇

Amish broccoli. I hated broccoli growing up, but as an adult, I love it. I was told that if I eat broccoli first, it's supposed to help with my blood sugar and help me feel fuller faster. ⬇

Amish cantaloupe. Yes, are they ugly? Yes. But real fruit is not always pretty. We are used to getting beautiful fruit, but the truth is when it's grown locally, it is not always pretty. The inside is what matters, and it is so sweet and delicious. Check comments for details ⬇

Customers love these Pretzel Crisps. Bring your own cold beverage.

Pillsbury cinnamon rolls. I love the convenience of these. They also make the house smell so good.

One parent told me they try hard to get their kids to eat broccoli, but they love Amish broccoli. Kids say it doesn't taste like broccoli. I think it's because this is grown locally, and it tastes like what broccoli should taste like when it is grown locally and not sitting in a truck. Check comments for details ⬇

The same goes for the Amish cauliflower. Vegetables that are grown locally and at the store within hours don't need all this stuff. Just roast with some salt and EVOO. Bam. Check comments for details ⬇

These wonderful mini cucumbers are great if you want a crunch.

This Maruchan Gold ramen is not the stuff you got when going to college. This is upscale stuff. I like it.

We have fresh flowers in store tomorrow.

It's Amish produce season. We have beautiful broccoli, and it comes with the stems and leaves on it, which have more nutrients than the florets.

Super-thin cold cuts in store.

Straight from our watermelon guy. Check the comments for the details. Our watermelon guy treated us really well. These are going fast. Remember, for the best watermelon, check for the ground mark, and it should feel heavy.

A customer said these stuffed mushrooms never disappoint. I agree.

Customers love these Cotton Candy grapes. They are so sweet that they do not feel healthy. That's how good they are.

Wow, I have had cases of pineapples leave the store. I love grilling them. Just slice and grill.

Wonder Glaze Honey Buns. My coworker, who grew up in the 80s, said that if you grew up in the 80s, these were incredible with a cup of cheap coffee. I asked, "What is cheap coffee?"

Amish yellow squash. Straight from the farm. Farm to your table.

We have more plums, and these just keep going out in cases. Everyone is making jam with these or just eating them.
