Dear friends and customers,
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the closing of our farm store & farm. This decision has not been made lightly, and we have spent many days & nights wrestling with this decision. Ultimately, we believe it is the right time for us to move forward.
I, Dirk, have multiple other commitments that demand a significant amount of my time. I am a Realtor, a Health Insurance agent, and I also create content for our online education business (some of which you may have seen if you follow our Tanner Farmstead social accounts). These ventures are where my vision lies, and I feel called to devote more time and energy to them. Farming is challenging, and making it profitable enough to justify the time and investment required can be even more difficult. This has been one of the key reasons behind our decision to close the farm store.
While growing food is a deep passion of mine, I have realized that my deeper passion is in educating others on how to grow their own food, rather than growing and selling it. This is the direction of my YouTube content and social media will take. I want to focus on homesteading/gardening and teaching others to do the same, rather than farming.
We are immensely grateful for the support and trust you have placed in us over the past several years. Your support has been the backbone of our farm, and we couldn’t have operated without it. Thank you for being part of our journey.
Please stay tuned to our Tanner Farmstead social media pages. We plan to host events in the future aimed at helping others start their own homesteads. We are excited about this new chapter and hope to continue supporting you in a different capacity.
If you have any questions about our decision, please do not hesitate to reach out.
We will keep the farm store open for the next week and all the shelf stable goods are $3 per item (excluding honey) for our clearance sale 💰
With much love and gratitude,
Dirk & Ashleigh Tanner
