It is with great sadness that we have to tell you Dad has passed away, the world has lost a man that was truly what an American should be. He was honest, hardworking, loved our country and his family.
Carmon Dilworth born on October 23,1942 passed away of pneumonia on October 9, 2021. He had a long and successful life shared with his wife of 53 years, Charlene and children Joyce, Ben, Sam and Patty.
He proudly served 4 years in the Navy aboard the aircraft carrier the USS Intrepid, and is a member of Former Crewmember Assoc. After the Navy Dad returned to farming, first in Baltimore County and then here in Caroline County with the purchase of property in Greensboro that became Sand Hill Farm. For the last 44years Carmon and Charlene grew a variety of fruits and vegetables that we sold at farmers markets around the region and of course here at the farm. For many years we also had a small herd of registered Polled Hereford beef cattle and also Yorkshire hogs.
Dad worked long hours to produce the best possible produce and could fix almost anything, from farm machinery to the clock on the mantle. If something wouldn't work or broke our first thought was call Dad he will know how to get it going. Dad also had honeybees and answered many phone calls to go rescue a swarm form someone's yard. Custom sawing with a portable sawmill was another of Dad's talents. Making homemade ice cream was something that he enjoyed doing with his grandsons Kyle and
Weston and granddaughters Riley, Reagan, and Amelia.
Services will be held Thursday October 14. 2021 with a viewing 1pm -2pm and a church service at 2pm at the Fleegle and Heilfenbein Funeral Home 106 W Sunset Ave. Greensboro, MD.
