Compass Plant CSA

Compass Plant CSA We are Grinnell's first established consumer supported agriculture group (CSA). Compass Plant CSA was formed in 2000 and has been serving the area since.

We focus on environmentally responsible farming practices in our gardens and with our livestock. Compass Plant CSA has been in operation in the Grinnell/Poweshiek Iowa area for 22 years. We offer a buffet style of Community Supported Ag. share to our members. By coming to distribution day you select what produce you want to take home for your eating pleasure. Along with locally grown, chemical fr

ee produce, we offer pastured poultry products, farm fresh eggs, grass fed pork products and a selection of breads. Compass Plant CSA distributes weekly shares from May to October, and bi-weekly until December. We also proudly participate in the Grinnell Farmer's market which is held twice weekly on Thursdays and Saturdays from May to October. Visitors are always welcome, so come and see us at the corner of Penrose and 16th Street in Grinnell, Ia. Thank you for your interest in Compass Plant CSA. Lisle and Ann

I bought a 3 pack of lightweight nitrile gloves or Lisle for $5.99. Same type of glove for me is the SAME PRICE FOR ONE pair. WTF why? Retailers and suppliers do better🤬😡

Heading home from the farm and this comes on IPR Studio One. I know they are coming, but the irony for a vegetable producer is too much this late in the day. Gotta love the creative name of the band.

What a week! Fire on Saturday to clear out some pasture, garden work until Wednesday, PLANTED garlic and shallots that were sprouting in 70° weather, munched said bed and topped off the the other garlic bed. Put up wind breaks around beds with straw bales. RAIN, ICE AND SNOW last night and now the barn doors were frozen shut. Saved by the sawmill, BFH, ykiyk and some select farmer's language. BUT, all animals are fine, fed and watered and I'm ready for one of Lisle's fantastic suppers. The life of an Iowa Farmers.
