💥New Vendor Alert
Returning after a 13 year hiatus from the market is Barb Peaslee from Garland Brook Farm located on Pleasant Valley Road in Lancaster. She will be selling beef, pork, chicken, vegetables, herbs, and tallow products.
Garland Brook Farm was established in 1854 and is nestled below Mt Cabot and surrounded by White Mountain National Forest.
After 30 years of rest the farm is being restored, rejuvenated, and once again thriving with livestock.
The livestock is grass fed with no artificial hormones or additives and is pasture raised and supplemented with hay that is grown and harvested by Barb, and her husband Tege. They implement a rotational grazing program with multiple grazing areas, which promotes healthier animals and improves soil health.
The chickens live in an outdoor covered shelter moved daily to fresh grass, a process resulting in healthier and cleaner birds. While the beef and pork are USDA processed, the chickens are processed right at the farm.
In addition to beef, pork, chicken, eggs, vegetables, and herbs … Barb also meticulously renders pork and beef tallow over a woodstove. Creating natural hand cream, candles, and tallow for cooking purposes.
In 2025, they installed a 2nd greenhouse to extend the growing season and this will allow them to bring this produce to the market.
In 2026, they opened a self-serve mobile farm stand which will be open 7 days a week at the farm. You can also see the mobile stand at the market.
Take a piece of the farm home with you; Barb’s photography of her animals and the surrounding scenery are available in notecards and framed prints.
Barb and Tege remain committed to the importance of good land stewardship. Their goal is to have this historical farm be self-sustainable using the natural resources surrounding it.
Barb is excited to be back at the market!
