We were Back in The Sac most of the week with colleagues like Josh Assink from Urban Village Farmers' Market Association , attending and speaking at Assembly and Senate hearings to advocate for the restoration of funding for CNIP- the California Nutrition Incentive Program- which is the cornerstone funding for Market Match, WIC & Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program Match, and all of the other matching programs we offer at our Markets. If CNIP funding is not restored, the Market Match will be gone at the and of this season. 😬Yikes! You can support us and our budget request Champion in the Senate - our own Senator Josh Becker- in getting his budget item across the finish line- and spare your self the drive - by following this link and writing your key legislators across the state and urging them to Fund CNIP. AS soon as we get this done, we'll circle back on the new challenges facing our Local Match program 😬
Meanwhile - follow this link to send your message of support of CNIP to the people in leadership positions on the committees we are counting on - https://savemarketmatch.org/write or stop by and pick up a postcard from Erin at the Farm Fatales stand, our our info booth when you Visit Half Moon Bay's location, or our Wednesday afternoon market in Rockaway Beach, Pacifica, California -
Thanks to the support of our sponsors and supporters of our work for making sure we have the ways and means to get into Food Fights on behalf of our community.
