2025 gun season is almost here and we are gearing up for another great season. As we are getting prepared their are a few things I want to discuss to help make this season go as best as possible.
1- Most important we do not and will not accept any drop offs without an appointment. Text 739-9398 with your name and we will let you know the earliest day to drop off. We only take in so many each day and the list fills fast.

2- After you are texted for pickup please come asap within 24hrs. Freezer space is limited. Send family, friend or whoever if for some reason you cant make it or out of town.

3- You hunted that deer to feed yourself and family so make sure you get the best possible product back. That means checking to make sure you have fully gutted that deer and completely removed everything( you would be surprised how many we get with heart and lungs). Use your judgement if you gut shot it and took you to the next day to find it and coyotes got into it that might not be the best deer to cut up and put on you dinner plate. Dragging that deer thru the swamp and muck probable isn't the best for quality. Be smart we can only do so much but those things will change the flavor of your meat.

4- I say this because I do hear it a few times every year. We process each deer separately one at a time so no we did not forget or loose any of your meat. Shooting a deer in the hind leg will lose 1/2 your steaks and roast, shooting your deer in the spine will lose alot of your backstraps and shooting your deer in the front shoulder or neck area will lose some burger meat. Shooting multiple areas will lose that much more so be selective and take the best shot you can. We spend alot of time making sure you get back the most possible amount of clean meat but remember no matter where you shoot some meat will be lost.

5- please make sure you have a tag with your deer I know and understand paper tags suck. We have our own method labeling the deer but we still need a tag even if you e-tagged it.

A few more questions answered that I have been asked
- we do not accept deer that have been skinned
- yes you prob get your deer back faster in the 1st week eventhough we're more busy compared to later in season because we take time off from out reg job opening week so we are all there full time
- every deer is processed 1 deer at a time your meat or sausage is not mixed with another deer
- when temps allow hanging a deer for a day is best as it completely bleeds out and chills the meat down so its easier to also cut
- most already know but preferred method of contact is texts. I do not check messages and rarely answer my phone it much easier to keep track of names and schedule when its texted rather then try remember your name after I hung up.
Sorry this is so long but hope this helps and maybe will answer a question you had. Good luck and see you soon

Good luck hunters. We are open for the season the hours are 10am till 8:30pm please send a text before you drop off. Some of these early bow season days are going to be warm so make sure your deer is completely cleaned out and not full of blood. Please if dropping your deer off DO NOT leave bags of ice in the deer as the ice melts fast and just leaves a big bloody water mess. We will break your deer down asap and get the meat in the coolers to chill. My cell number is 739-9398 text is easiest to get ahold of me as I dont get to voicemail often. Good luck and look forward to seeing you

Just a heads up Friday Nov 15th i will not be accepting drop offs so we can get the deer currently in the shop finished up(if you have a deer in please try to pick up Friday evening) we need to get the shop cleaned up, supplies restocked and everything organized to be ready for opening day. If you do shoot a deer Friday we can get you on the list for a Saturday drop off.
- Reminder we do not accept any deer without an appointment please call ahead and get on the list as we only accept a certain number of deer each day
- We ask for deer to be picked up within 24hrs of call, if out of town please make arrangements with family or friends. Faster you can pick up more deer we can accommodate.
- I understand how the paper tags are a pain but please bring your tag and we will staple to your cut sheet, we have hard plastic tags to label your deer
- For the sausage shop your snack sticks and jerkey will be made later in the year after the sausage slows down and Gene has alittle bit more time since those are very time consuming they will not be ready with your deer order but gene does everything he can to get those to you before the holidays
Good luck and hope to see everyone
