For a lot of our community, the last week has meant power outages, storm cleanup, lost food, and a lot of uncertainty. Today is a chance to come together, get out of the house, support local, and bring a little fun back for Art Day.

🎨 CALLING ALL ARTISTS + CREATIVE HUMANS!

We’re going to be out at the Downtown Hammond Farmers Market tomorrow, and we would love for you to join us!

After the disaster that recently ripped through Northwest Indiana, I think we could all use a few hours where our minds get to be somewhere else. Some of us are still without power. My family is still without power. So many people are exhausted, displaced, cleaning up, waiting and trying to figure out what normal even looks like right now.

Tomorrow is about creating together.

The Art Table will be bringing:

🎨 Interactive produce + vegetable painting
✏️ Draw a Friend
🌈 Face painting
🪨 Hammond Strong community rocks
🖍️ Chalk art throughout the Farmers Market

And we’re calling on our local artists to help us chalk up Downtown Hammond!

Chalk artists can start around 1:30 PM, and we’ll keep creating until the market ends at 7 PM.

You absolutely do not have to be an artist to join us. If you want to volunteer, paint something, draw something, meet somebody new, laugh for a little while or simply get out of the house and be around your community, come hang out with us.

There will be art, music and plenty happening throughout the market, and afterward we'll be heading over to Paul Henry’s for Jam Night.

For a few hours, let's give our heads somewhere else to be.

Let's create together. Let's laugh together. Let's reconnect with one another and remember how important human connection is, especially when things are hard.

Join us in Downtown Hammond for the Hammond Art Walk, a Third Thursday FREE experience featuring local artists, creative pop-ups, live demonstrations, downtown business stops, market vendors, food, music, and community connection. You can find us in the big hall called the Reserve where we'll be offering a mini art experience, "Slap Graffiti".

The Art Walk is part of Hammond Farmed & Forged and is designed to bring more foot traffic downtown, highlight regional creatives, and give residents a fun, walkable way to experience local art and small businesses.
