Calling All Musicians & Music Lovers: Open Mic is Coming to Hammond! 🎤

Opening day is officially a week away & we are absolutely thrilled to announce that we are launching Open Mic for our Hammond market location, hosted by the incredibly talented local musician himself, Kwaician!

If you’ve heard Kwaician perform before, you already know he brings unmatched soulful energy, a deep love for the local music scene, and the perfect welcoming vibe to the stage. Now, he’s sharing that spotlight with you right during market hours to help us kick off this brand-new tradition!

Here is the schedule:
🚀 The Launch: The open mic officially debuts on Opening Day, Thursday, May 28th!
🗓️ The Routine: After opening day, the open mic will take place on the 3rd Thursday of every month for the rest of the season.

Want to share your talent?
Whether you are a seasoned singer-songwriter, a casual guitarist, a poet, or a hidden local talent, this is your stage. You can sign up live on location at the market, or secure your spot ahead of time by emailing [email protected]! 📧

The Music Doesn't Stop!
Keep the creative vibes rolling even after the market wraps up! Once our market open mic concludes, the music moves right across the street to Paul Henry's Art Gallery for their open mic experience. It’s a full evening dedicated to celebrating local art and music in downtown Hammond!

We are officially bringing the creative vibes to our Hammond opening day with an incredible, interactive art experience you won’t want to miss! We have teamed up with amazing local artists to bring you a series of unique art activations that are perfect for all ages.

Here is what we have lined up to spark your creativity while you shop:

🎨 Faces of the Market with The Art of Lauren Thiel : Leave your mark on opening day! Join artist Lauren Thiel for a fun, interactive drawing station where you can draw yourself and help us create a beautiful visual tapestry of the amazing community members who make our market so special.

⛰️Collaborative Clay Landscapes with Winegar Pottery: Let’s build something together! The Winegars are setting up a massive, collaborative landscape of unfired clay with mountains, hills, & valleys. Stop by to sculpt your own custom addition to add to the collective piece. There are absolutely no rules and room for total creativity.

🏺 Pottery Wheel Demos with David from Duneland Pottery: Watch the magic happen live! David will be operating a pottery wheel demonstration right at the market, showcasing the incredible skill of wheel throwing. This is a super engaging, visual, & conversational experience where you can see raw clay transform into art.

How it works is simple:
