Summer market season is officially underway at the Wrightsville Beach Farmers Market 🌱☀️

We had an amazing first market yesterday and somehow managed to pack up just before the thunderstorms rolled in! Thank you to everyone who stopped by to support local farmers and stock up on fresh superfoods.

You can find us at the market on the 2nd & 4th Mondays each month this summer!

Microgreens may be small, but they’re packed with flavor and concentrated nutrients that can help support overall wellness — an easy way to add more living foods to your day. 💚

Most people think nutrition starts at the grocery store…

It doesn’t. 🌱

It starts in the soil.
In how food is grown.
In how animals are raised.
In the environment they live in every single day.

Out here, nutrition looks different.

It looks like microgreens grown slowly and intentionally for maximum nutrient density.

It looks like hens that are protected, unstressed, and able to live the way they were designed to—scratching, foraging, communicating.

It looks like a rooster standing watch all day so his flock can safely eat.

This is what “food as medicine” really means.

We never planned on having a rooster… but then there’s Henry. 🐓

He’s not just beautiful—he’s intentional.

Through patience and mutual respect, Henry has learned his place in our family. No chasing, no kicking—just understanding. And in return, we’ve learned his language.

He takes his job seriously. Always on duty. Always watching. Always providing.

He calls his girls to food before he ever takes a bite himself. He keeps a constant eye on the sky. And when danger is near, his voice changes—urgent, commanding—run.

What’s even more incredible? He’s learned us too.

When we clap at the sky to scare off hawks, Henry responds instantly—sounding the alarm, rallying his flock. It’s a partnership we never expected… a quiet, powerful communication between species.

We didn’t think we wanted a rooster. Now we can’t imagine our flock without him.

We never expected to learn so much from a rooster… but Henry has a lot to teach us. 💚
