To our Nunda Fruit Farm community: We're sharing a personal and difficult update with you today. Behind the scenes, this has been a challenging year for the Nunda Fruit Farm family.
At the heart of our third generation here at the farm is Christine (Lucabaugh) Miller, the wife of owner Glenn Miller and mother to their sons, Collby (who is also an owner), Conrad, Carson, and Colin, all of whom are now operating the business. Christine has been battling cancer and is currently very weak and ill. Many of you may know her brothers, Nathan Lucabaugh (who we sadly lost a few years ago) and Nevin Lucabaugh. While Glenn has been the primary operator of the farm for many years, Christine has always been an integral part of the family's legacy. Even when not directly involved day-to-day, her heart for the farm and her family has always been a big part of what makes Nunda Fruit Farm so special.
During this incredibly difficult time, we're inspired by Glenn’s loving dedication to his wife, as he's chosen to remain faithfully by Christine's side. With Glenn away from the business, a significant void has opened for his many roles and responsibilities. We are immensely proud of their sons, Colby, Conrad, Carson, and Colin, for stepping up. Their incredible dedication and hard work in the orchard have been crucial in keeping the farm running smoothly during this busiest time of year, as the peaches you all love are growing and ripening for harvest.
At the market, we are also deeply grateful to our amazing clerks. They've been working extra hard and taking on extra shifts to ensure we can continue serving you, helping to offset many tasks behind the scenes. Please be extra patient and kind to them this summer as they take on more responsibility.
As we navigate these uncertain times, we humbly ask for your prayers for Christine and the entire family. Our goal is to keep the farm running smoothly while ensuring that the family can prioritize spending time with their wife and mother as much as possible. We are so grateful for each of you and deeply appreciate your continued love and support.
