Starting on the back of a pickup truck in March 1975 on the courthouse square, B&B Produce has been providing Breckinridge County families the finest and freshest fruits, vegetables, nuts, confections and gifts. On April 1, 1975, we opened for business in the corner of main street beside Abbott and Tanner, then moved in Spring 1976 to Hwy. 60 in the Larry Butler building where we conducted busines
s for over 12 years. We then started selling our Spring line of garden plants, flowers, seed and supplies. From there to expand our product lines and business we moved to old taylor's Chevy garage. Did business there for more then twelve years owning a craft store, video store, and exercise store beside our growing produce and garden center. After Roy became sick we auctioned off most off the business to concentrate again on the produce and garden center in the location we are sitting now at 140A Old Hwy 60, were we have been for more then 12 years serving the Breckinridge County Community. Raymond Bolin's store, circa 1940. The produce business was started by Roy’s Father late Raymond Bolin in the early 1940′s where he raised and taught his 11 kids how to run and grow the business. Out of the 11 children, 4 of the boys opened and ran their own stores under the name Bolin’s Market: Paul Bolin in Hodgensville, Ky, Frank Bolin in Cave City, Danny Bolin in Beaver Dam and Roy in Hardinsburg. Roy and Mary changed the name of their store to B&B produce from Bolin’s produce when they took on a partner Lorn Brown making it Bolin and Brown-B&B for short. The Bolin’s bought out the Brown side of business in 1995 in Brandenburg. Making them owners of B&B #1 in Hardinsburg, KY, B&B #2 in Brandinburg, and B&B #3 in Leitchfield. After Roy passed unexpected September of 2008, his wife Mary and kids Vicki and Pat Lowe along with their daughters Megan and Autumn, Aimee and Daniel Pantoja along with son Matthew and Roy and Mary’s son R.T. Bolin continue to run the business in Hardinsburg.
