Dug Fresh Farms No shortcuts, no fluff. Located in Haven KS We had always felt called to the country, but coming from the city we had no idea on how or where to start.

We’re a small family-run 13 acre farm in the heart of Kansas, and do things the old-fashioned way—slow-grown, pasture-raised beef, dairy, pork, and eggs from animals that roam and forage like it was intended. In 2021, after 15 years of military service, my wife and I and our 5 beautiful daughters decided to settle down on a 13 acre homestead outside of Haven Kansas. A few books later, some YouTube

videos, and much prayer we were on our way to becoming first generation permaculture farmers! From goats and pigs, to horses, rabbits and chickens, we invite you to grow and learn with us on this amazing journey at Dug Fresh Farms!

We’ll be bringing our farm-fresh eggs, pasture-raised pork, and some good old-fashioned lard bread—baked fresh with our own rendered lard from pigs raised right here on the farm.

If you’ve never had lard bread before… well, you’re in for a real treat. It’s simple, hearty, and downright delicious.

Finally got this beauty dug up from our pasture! A few year ago we came across it buried in about 8” of dirt and mud in our tree line, but never took the time to really try and get it out. It was upside down and surprisingly in good shape!

Another great day at the farmers market yesterday! We’re always so thankful for your support and love seeing both familiar and new faces each week.

We’re excited to share that we’ve started expanding some of our goodies! Erica has been baking fresh bread, cookies, and scones—but with a twist. Instead of using butter, she’s using our rendered lard made right here on the farm from our pasture-raised pigs.

Why lard? Not only is it a rich, clean fat, but it creates bread that’s shockingly soft, tender, and airy. It’s a neat alternative that brings everything full circle—sustainably using every part of the animal while making something that tastes amazing.

Come give it a try next week or message us to reserve a loaf! We can’t wait for you to taste the difference.

And dont forget to pick your pasture range eggs from us next week, we’ve got plenty to go around!
