Hey y’all. We want to share honestly about where Field & Kitchen is right now.

Over the past year, we’ve been trying to build something a little unusual for Henderson County: a space that supports local farmers and food makers while also creating a place where people from all walks of life can gather around good food.

Every bowl purchased helps support:
🥕 8 local producers who run food businesses in our kitchen
🥬 fresh food access for the community through our Free Fridge program
🍲 more tha 1500 pay-what-you-can meals since January
🌻 community gathering space
🧑‍🍳 business coaching
💚 an emerging food hub to create more markets for healthy farms.

But spaces like this are not easy to sustain while they grow.

We’re currently at a pivotal point as our board evaluates what the next year of Field & Kitchen looks like.

One of the biggest questions we’re trying to answer is whether there is enough community support to keep building this vision together.

Hey y’all. We just got invited to participate in the Vegan Chef Challenge for the month of June!

We need to add 1 to 3 new plant-based dishes to the menu, and then y’all vote for your favorites. The restaurant with the top dish wins prizes. We like prizes.

I’m thinking I want to highlight what’s coming out of the farm next month: beets, collards, kale, fresh herbs, crunchy things, bright sauces, all the good stuff. Also playing around with more plant-based proteins that actually feel satisfying and joyful.

So tell us: what kinds of new yummies would you want in your bowl?

Pictured: my lunch today, broiled tofu with a Vietnamese coriander and lemongrass glaze plus farm veggies. (Posted mostly because apparently the algorithm requires snacks.)

We've heard that we are a "hidden secret." We've heard that we "have the best salads ever." We've heard that our "flavors are sensational" and that "every bite feels good bc I know that I'm putting healthy food into my body." We appreciate all the community support and we don't want to be a secret! Hopefully this new flag will help folks to easily find us! Field and Kitchen is open Monday-Friday 11-3pm! Located at 1620 Brevard Rd., in Hendersonville. Almost everything we serve is organic. We purchase as much as we can seasonally and from our local farmers! And, we are plant based, pay-what-you-can (suggested price $14) and build-your-own bowl/salad! Come on in and create something delicious with us! All are welcome! We also love volunteers!
