Small Wheel Farm Small scale farmers bringing Duluth delicious food and unique pottery. Rebecca comes to farming after seven years of working as an artist and art educator.

Small Wheel Farm LLC owner, Rebecca Gramdorf and her husband Peter Taylor bought their six acres in 2016 with the dream of starting a diversified vegetable farm that is sustainable, beautiful, and committed to community. Located only twenty minutes from downtown Duluth, it is our goal to act as a hub for learning about and experiencing good food and farming. We are committed to producing highly nu

tritious foods following organic practices, and are currently transitioning our land so we can be USDA certified organic. She taught at a public high school and coordinated arts programming for MacRostie Art Center in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. She also has had her artwork shown in several group and solo shows. Rebecca continues making art--particularly ceramics--and sells her wares alongside those of the farm. While Rebecca is the full time farmer, Peter's contribution is more than substantial. His off-farm income allows Rebecca to fully devote herself to farm operations and time in the studio. He also does a lot of field work and harvesting during the evenings and weekends. Peter envisions a permaculture orchard as part of the farm's landscape and is contributing by getting that enterprise started while Rebecca focuses on the annual vegetable production. We are grateful to have experience working at two successful CSA farms. Rebecca volunteered at Food Farm and interned at Northern Harvest Farm, both in Wrenshall, Minnesota, during her career transition. 2017 will be our first season of solo commercial production. The fields are starting to fill up! We have been prepping the last of our beds for planting. The field crops are sizing up nicely and will be ready soon. We are still harvesting spring crops from the high tunnel and planting summer crops as space opens.
