🌟 New This Season: Vendor Spotlights! 🌟
Our market is about more than just great products—it's about the local families, farmers, bakers, makers, and small businesses that make our Sunday mornings special.
As this season progress, we'll continue to introduce you to the people behind the booths. First up, meet Rehberg's Pork!
1️⃣ Who are they?
Denny, Lea, Matt, and Kristi Rehberg are a multi-generational farming family with six generations involved in the operation.
2️⃣ What do they sell?
🥓 Farm-raised pork
🍳 Fresh breakfast sandwiches made with pork and eggs raised on their farm
3️⃣ What makes them unique?
Every pig is born and raised on their farm. The Rehbergs grow their own crops, grind their own feed, produce their own bedding, and even raise the chickens that provide eggs for their sandwiches.
They also maintain some of the oldest Hampshire hog genetics in North America. Their herd was selected by the USDA for DNA collection and preservation in a cryogenic facility in Fort Collins, Colorado.
4️⃣ How did the business get started?
As Denny says, he was born a farmer. Farming has been a family tradition for generations, and today the sixth generation is helping carry on that legacy.
5️⃣ Favorite product?
"It's hard to choose!" The family loves their pork products, but their breakfast sandwiches are definitely a customer favorite.
6️⃣ How long have they been at the Hiawatha Farmers Market?
Since the very beginning! When Fred Johnson started the market, he invited the Rehbergs to join. They've been part of the market community ever since.
7️⃣ Favorite part of the Hiawatha Farmers Market?
✔️ Great attendance
✔️ Easy access for customers
✔️ A fantastic group of fellow vendors
Make sure to stop by and visit Rehberg's Pork this Sunday. Whether you're picking up pork for dinner or grabbing a breakfast sandwich, you're supporting a local family farm with generations of history behind it!
