🌟 Vendor Spotlight: Cindy’s Pies 🌟

This week we're featuring Cindy Aker and the homemade pies and baked goods she offers at the booth.

She sells fresh homemade pies, breads, bars, and cookies. She offers a number of flavors including seasonal flavors.

💌 What makes them unique?
Cindy says she takes the time to try new things and all her products are truly made with love.

Behind the Booth
📖 How it started: Cindy has always loved to bake and thought it would be fun to share her favorite recipes with others.

🗓️Years at Hiawatha Farmers Market: 7 years!

🍪 Favorite products: Bumbleberry pie- it is a delicious blend of fruit and is very colorful. A close second for her, would be her monster cookies.

We have been receiving feedback that folks think yesterday was our last market for the year. Our last market is not until the last Sunday in October which is October 25th. There is still plenty of time to come out and visit.

This is a long shot but someone list a car key fob on Sunday at the market and it was turned into the market manager. If you are the one that happened to lose it, please send us a message with the type of car key fob it is so we can get it returned to you.

This week we're featuring James and Jessica Madsen and the truly refreshing soaps, salves, and other clean products they offer at their booth.

🧼 What do they sell?
They have a wide variety of products including goat milk soap / goat milk bath fizz / herbal products / salves / lotions / and rice packs.

🌿 What makes them unique?
All of their products are made with all natural ingredients. They MAKE and USE everything on their table themselves.

💡 How it started: The Madsens got into the booth when their oldest daughter started it up for a 4-H project!

⭐ Vendor Spotlight: Bloomer Farms⭐

This week we're featuring Keith Bloomer and the AMAZING fresh vegetables he offers at the booth.

Who is he
📍Keith is from Conesville, Iowa

🍓What does he sell?
Starting in the season, he has strawberries / asparagus / greenhouse cucumbers / and tomatoes. As the season progresses, he offers more variety of vegetables like green beans and sugar snap peas. Then comes the sweetcorn / potatoes / onions / and of course kohlrabi. He also raises three different varieties of sugar baby’s, two different kinds of seeded watermelon and of course the sweetest cantaloupe. Let’s not forget about cabbage / bell peppers / jalapenos (heat and no heat). Towards the end of the season, the pumpkins start to show up along with the winter squash – butternut / acorn / spaghetti / and delicata.
🌱What makes him unique?
Keith says that he grows a lot of different vegetable products for his customers. For example he offers five different kinds of eggplants (regular, oriental, Japanese, fairy tale, and Turkish) and cousa squash.

🌾How it started: Keith tells us, “I started doing markets after high school for my mother and father.”

📅Years at Hiawatha Farmers Market: 10 plus years!

🌽🍉Favorite products: For Keith, it is a hard toss up between sweetcorn and watermelon!
Why they love Hiawatha Farmers Market: Simply put, “The customers!” Keith has a lot of repeat customers that have been coming to his stand year after year. He also enjoys socializing and getting to know other vendors.
