Huge news!!!! Fresh from the Farmer's Market! Copake Falls artist teamed up with her husband, art director , to bring this hand-drawn vision to life. They nested the lettering for Copake Hillsdale Farmer's Market directly into the vegetables to keep the focus exactly where it belongs: on the food.
Janelle is a Copake Falls-based artist who draws her best ideas from everyday life, especially the vibrant produce of the farmers market. To create this design, she massed bold shapes on her iPad, then used a subtractive method to "carve" out each vegetable and its highlights. Working with her husband Matt, an art director, they drew the lettering directly into the produce to keep the focus on the illustration. For Janelle, the design is anchored by the humble silhouette of a potato to balance the leafy greens, and punctuated by her favorite detail: a tiny, hidden bee.
