🌻Bulk portions of our Kaua‘i-grown and processed sunflower oil now available! 🙌🏽

🍳 Each of these 5-liter bag-in-boxes is equivalent to 20 8.5 oz bottles! 😱 Equipped with a spigot for no-mess pours, these are perfect for refilling your countertop oil bottles, refreshing your deep fryer, and frying in your wok.

🚜 This high-heat oil is grown and made by , using their Hanapēpē-grown sunflowers and processing facility. The sunflowers are part of a three-crop rotation method meant to ensure the nutrients applied to the soil are used efficiently, while also returning biomass and nitrogen.

This new, bulk size is $52.99, or $10.60 per liter! That’s cheaper than most of the big jugs of olive and avocado oil at Costco. 👀

100% Hawai‘i Island milk now available 😱🎉

🌱Pasture-raised in Kohala
🥛 Processed and packed in Hilo
✨ Whole & 2% on the shelf now

🐄 , located in Kohala since 1985, is the only remaining commercial dairy in Hawai‘i.

🌱 “We practice rotational grazing, which provides our cows with new areas of high-quality pasture daily while giving our fields rest, allowing regeneration... We believe that a well-managed, grass-fed livestock system improves the fertility of the land, (and) produces exceptional high-quality milk”

Cloverleaf milk is rBGH (recombinant bovine growth hormone)-free

🥛, locally-owned and operated and serving Hawai‘i since 1897, is Hawai‘i’s only remaining dairy processor. They collect, process and package the milk from Cloverleaf Dairy weekly, right here in Hilo.

We are so grateful for these local operations dedicated to supporting and growing local food production in meaningful ways.

✨ GRUMICHAMA / Brazil Cherry

🖤 They're giving plum and grape and sweet cherry. These black tropical cherries are sweet and mild and excellent for jams, syrups, pies or enjoying directly in the face.

🌱 They have seeds so watch out! Actually, it's fine, but the seeds don't taste great, so just spit them out as you savor the flavor. And if you love it, save those babies and plant them! The trees are gorgeous.

🫧 These delicate little orbs are in the cold section while we can get them! Mahalo Jeanette for sharing this carefully-harvested batch!

CLOSED THIS FRIDAY 5/1

‼️To be clear, we do not like closing the shop. It's never an easy decision and always a pain in the ass. But with so much blatant corruption, lack of competent, qualified leadership, growing inequality, the dehumanization of so many, continued desecration of sacred spaces, and the wealthiest of us throwing everything and everyone else under the bus to grow their money and power.... It's time to strike!

✊🏽 Hawai‘i's working class has a rich history of organizing strikes to demand change. And while I don't think this one day is going to flip everything around, it's an important step in this journey of resistance, to stand in solidarity, and to refuse to normalize the cruel and corrupt actions of the government of the United States.

🎨 So let's make art and get educated! Come spend an afternoon with making PALAKA block prints and reading zines about Hawai‘i's labor organizing history and collective liberation here at the shop! Let's continue to build community and safe spaces with one another.

As always, our staff will receive paid time off during this closure.
