We are starting this beautiful Friday with GRATITUDE.

BLUE BARN WILL RE-OPEN AT 1:00PM TODAY and we would love to see all your smiling faces in the tasting room and back yard to help us celebrate GRATITUDE on this beautiful Friday.

To say we were devastated yesterday at having to cancel a fundraiser that is near and dear to our hearts is an understatement.

But boy oh boy did our team and our community show up for support.

This morning we are so grateful for

- The 47 line trucks and over 65 linemen who worked all night long to replace the power poles and reopen the road.

- Aprilano Excavating and the West Wind Farm team who worked quickly to create an exit plan for customers and worked into the night to install a new roadway access

- Our Pomona coordinators for making adjustments to make sure our bridal party has the best possible experience

- The entire Cidery team for working together to keep everyone safe and happy during an emergency

- All our local contractor friends, businesses, and neighbors who reached out for support

And above all else, we are thankful that nobody was hurt in the accident, our neighbors can return to their homes, and everyone stayed safe.

💙

If you've been following along, you know we planted just under 2000 apple trees this Spring

Three weeks later...
420 trellis posts
50,400 feet of trellis wire
60 lbs of wire staples
3,100 tree clips
300 lbs of grass seed

And the best part?

Leaves 🍃 Our new trees are growing leaves which means their roots are settling in to their new home at West Wind Farm and preparing for the long road ahead.

Did you know, we will care for these trees for the next 3 years before we get any apples?

In a world of instant gratification, this is one way to learn some serious patience.

Blue skies and blueberry blooms 🫐

The blueberry bushes are absolutely thriving under these clear blue skies and sunshine. Up close, you can see just how heavy the branches are with blossoms.

Crossing our fingers that this weather helps turn all these little blossoms into sweet, juicy blueberries!

Who is already planning their summer berry-picking trips to West Wind Farm?

"Home of the free, because of the brave." 🇺🇸

Today, we pause the tractors and step away from the fields to honor the incredible heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. The liberty to live, work, and grow on this beautiful land is a gift we will never take for granted.

Sending our deepest gratitude and respect to all who have lost a loved one in service to our country. Have a blessed and beautiful Memorial Day. ❤️ 🤍 💙

After an absolutely beautiful week of weather we are saying so long to 1.2 million or so of our hardest workers

The honeybees! 🐝

Our flying friends have been working so hard the last several weeks with cool, rainy weather, but this week Mother Nature gave us the sun and warmth we've all been waiting for.

Now that (hopefully) all the different fruit blossoms have been pollinated, these honeybees are headed back home.

Spring planting continues! Now that all our new trees are in the ground it's time to trellis them up to make sure they grow strong and straight.

Happy World Bee Day 🐝!

The bees at West Wind Farm have been putting in some serious work lately 🌼

From blossom to blossom, our busiest little farmhands are helping bring the orchard to life and setting the stage for another great season ahead. There’s something pretty special about seeing the farm buzzing with energy this time of year.

Next time you’re out at Blue Barn, take a moment to appreciate the tiny crew behind the scenes making it all happen🍎

Something new and sweet is coming to our orchard 🍎

Last week, we planted a new variety of apple trees — Ludacrisp!
These apples are famous for their bold, tropical flavor that many compare to Juicy Fruit chewing gum.

It’ll be a few seasons before these trees are ready to share their fruit, but good things are worth the wait. We’re excited to keep growing the orchard and bringing new flavors from the farm to your plate.

Here’s to the next chapter growing at West Wind Farm 🌱🍏

From delicate white blossoms to sweet summer blues 🫐

The blueberry fields are looking picture-perfect today at West Wind Farm! Did you know that blueberry blossoms look like tiny, upside-down white bells?

Who else is counting down the days until blueberry picking season? 🙋🏼‍♀️

Planting for the future with our little farm hands!

There’s nothing quite like teaching the next generation the ropes—or in this case, the roots!

As you can see, we have some expert supervision to make sure every tree is planted just right. Building the future of the orchard one tree at a time.

(Full disclosure, one little farm hand was more helpful than the other 😉 )
