Happy Weekend everyone! Produce Stand is open today, Saturday June 6, I from 9 am - ? There will be fresh salad mix (6 oz bags) featuring a blend of marvel, Bibb, buttercrunch, endive and arugula. I have a limited amount of garlic scapes available so get here early as they will sell out quickly. 2 per person please. Also available is Napa cabbage and Romaine lettuce. Will have other limited items available as well. 498 Ridge Rd, Hinckley.

🍅 Get Ready for Tomato Season! 🍅

The #1 question I have gotten this year: “Will you have tomatoes?”

The answer is a big, juicy YES!

This past weekend, I got my tomato crop planted and thriving—nearly 100 plants across a dozen delicious varieties. Each one carefully set and strung, growing strong and full of promise.

Mark your calendars: late July/ early August is when the magic begins.

And trust me… the plants are already giving it away—the rich, unmistakable scent of fresh tomatoes is in the air.

Got the peppers planted in the raised bed. Planted them amongst the onions. Varieties range from Green, Red, and yellow bell, poblano, jalapeño, banana, tobasco, biquinho and shish*to peppers. The plan is for the peppers to shade the onions. I still need to lay some straw down to retain moisture in the bed before it starts getting hot.

Another before and after of the garden from this past weekend. Things are starting to take shape and it now looks like a garden again. It is still very muddy in spots but I was able to over turn the rest of the beds. Added more topsoil/compost and put in the transplants that I had such as peppers, cucumbers, and more lettuce. Those are the cucumbers trellises that you see. The two rows covered in plastic will be where the tomatoes are going Memorial Day weekend. Hoping that plastic sheeting heats the soil up another 10 degrees
