The Star Tribune wrote a nice article showcasing the issues we (and other small meat markets) are facing. 💔

(Some of the comments did make me giggle though - if it were only that easy to raise our own beef to use 😉)

We’re down to just a few remaining items - mostly shelf-stable items. Sauces and seasonings, pickled eggs, smoked nuts, tartar sauce, a few cheeses and odds and ends…

If you’re thinking of stopping by, please know that our selection is extremely limited, and we’re winding things down. 💔

If you’d like to grab any last-minute items, now’s your chance! Everything is available while supplies last.u

Heartfelt Message from The Butcher Shoppe❤️

After many long conversations, sleepless nights, and a great deal of soul-searching, we have made one of the hardest decisions we’ve ever faced - The Butcher Shoppe will be closing its doors.

This was not an easy decision, and it comes after countless hours of discussion and reflection. Many factors played a role - the challenges of rising costs (we know everyone is feeling it these days), the difficulty of competing with big box stores, and the reality that we’re now paying more for product than we were charging just a short time ago.

Add to that our desire for more simplicity and balance in our family life, ongoing staffing challenges - though we’ve been blessed with an amazing team (a special thank you to Kailey, Lydia, Matt and all our family and friends for always stepping up sticking by us 🥰), and a new opportunity that offers the stability and work-life balance we’ve been seeking and we knew it was time to make this very difficult choice.

What truly makes this decision the hardest is leaving behind our incredible customers and the friendships we’ve built over the years. You’ve become like family to us, and your support, loyalty, and smiles have meant more than we can ever express.

We also want to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the City of Hokah for your support, encouragement, and the strong sense of community that has surrounded us from the very beginning. It’s been an absolute honor to serve this town and be part of its story.

We will remain open through Wednesday, November 26th. In the meantime, we invite you to stop in to help us liquidate inventory, share a few memories, or simply say goodbye. Seeing your familiar faces means the world to us.

And although we are stepping away, we would love to see someone take the reins of The Butcher Shoppe - someone who will pour their heart into it just as we have, and continue to serve this wonderful community with the same care and pride - We’d be happy to share our insights, lessons, mistakes and successes. Our equipment and fixtures will all be for sale.

From the bottom of our hearts - thank you for being part of our journey. We will forever treasure the memories, friendships, and moments shared through The Butcher Shoppe. ❤️

With heartfelt appreciation,
Justin, Mandi and family
