Today (Tuesday September 1) is the fourteenth Hollidaysburg Farmers Market of the season; we meet from 11am-2pm, in rain and shine. Sneak peeks include SWEET CORN, watermelon and cantaloupe, hot and sweet peppers, and lettuce! Cut flowers, Elderberry Syrup kits, Red ripe tomatoes, sourdough bread, a variety of good food through Doug’s Dawgs (hot dogs, cheesesteaks, Angus burgers, sausage sandwiches), The Dirty Soda Shack (Tuna Melts, Turkey Apple Bacon Ranch Wraps, Wedding Soup and Potato Broccoli Cheese Soup), and Bake Shop Bakes (grab and go fresh made Italian and turkey subs in coolers), and yogurt smoothies through Blue Barn Farm! NEW: we also have grab and go ham and cheddar sourdough sandwiches, and seasoned chicken/pepperjack sourdough sandwiches at Seraphim Sourdough today.
Our market meets each Tuesday 11-2 through the end of September and we will also hold one more Night Market on the third Friday of September, 5-8pm. If you need an address for your GPS, please use 301 Allegheny Street.
The following list covers a lot of the local products our vendors are bringing today. There's too much to list it all, although we tried! You need to come and see for yourself!
LUNCH SPECIALS (PREPARED FOODS):
*The Dirty Soda Shack is here with their dirty sodas, refreshers, iced teas, iced coffees, and delicious lunch offerings. Here are the lunch choices (check their FB page for the most up to date details):
*Tuna Melts: Shack style tuna salad with cheddar and Swiss cheese, toasted on multigrain bread. Served with chips and pickles on the side.
*Turkey Apple Bacon Ranch Wraps: Spinach style wraps with bacon ranch cream cheese spread, thin slices of turkey breast, thin sliced Honeycrisp apples, fresh greens, tomato, red onion. Comes with avocado and vinaigrette on the side with chips and pickles.

*Doug's Dawgs has classic hot dogs, chili mac, sausage sandwiches, cheesesteaks, burgers and cold drinks, perfect for a lunch stop. We need more pictures of Doug’s sandwiches and hot dogs—please take some and share to our page or tag us!
*Bake Shop Bakes Tyrone has fresh grab and go subs (Turkey and Italian) in the coolers in front of their baked goods display. Don’t forget to look in the coolers at the farmers market. Some of the best stuff is in there!

Bake Shop Bakes Tyrone is here with their crowd-pleasing, made-this-morning Italian Subs and Turkey Subs great for lunch, and a bakery case loaded with favorites including: Dumplings, Cake Slices, Gobs, Fresh Cookies, Baked Treats, Pepperoni Bread and more! We remind you to look in the coolers in front of Bake Shop Bakes’ table…some of the best stuff is in there!
*Seraphim Sourdough Co. has delicious sourdough offerings, including an assortment (different each week; no guarantees that a particular sourdough product will be there) of sourdough loaves, sourdough bagels, English Muffins, granola, and scones. Learn more at their FB page...also, check out their grab and go Ham and Cheddar sandwiches, and Seasoned Chicken/Pepperjack sandwiches on sourdough!

*Blue Barn Farm’s list includes: Sweet Corn, Salad Mix, Watermelon, Cantaloupes, three kinds of tomatoes (slicers, heirloom, cherry), Italian beans, Arugula, Head Lettuces, Endive, Kale, Scallions, Salad Turnips, Candy Onions, Beans (green and yellow), Kohlrabi, Carrots, Fennel, Potatoes (red and white), Eggplant (classic only this week, no Asian), Peppers (Jalapeno, hot banana, bell, colored bells), Zucchini, Yellow Squash, Cucumbers (slicers and picklers), Cabbage, Collard Greens, Swiss Chard, Fresh Herbs- Chives, Oregano, Parsley, Sage, Basil, Mint, Thyme… Garlic Bulbs, Jarred products - salsas, pickled items, jams, salad dressings, Clover Creek Cheeses, Maple Syrup, and Rissler Farm raw milk, chocolate milk and pasteurized yogurt smoothies. Don’t forget to look inside the coolers to pick your fresh milk and cheese!
*Rispoli's Produce will have Jalapeno Peppers, Poblano Peppers, and Hot Banana Peppers, ground cherries, Basil, Swiss chard, Curly and Dinosaur Kale, Dragon Tongue beans, Early Girl tomatoes, Green Tomatoes, green beans, yellow beans, red white and blue potatoes, infused local honeys, honey sticks, Homegrown Sweet gourmet cucumbers, Zucchini in green and yellow, Yellow Squash, Spring Onions, Candy Onions, fresh brown free-range eggs, and rainbow eggs. AND, a small amount of unsprayed, non-GMO Sweet Corn. You may find a little friend under the husk, but they don’t eat much. *Judy's Home-Grown Vegetables is here with her fresh, high-quality vegetables and fruit! Today you need to see her beautiful Assorted cherry tomatoes, Cayenne peppers, Concord Grapes, Italian oyster mushrooms, Jalapeno peppers, Japanese scallions, Radishes, Raspberries, and Thyme. Judy sells out most weeks, so get to her fast! Check Judy’s FB page and scroll back through to learn more about her produce and how to use it.
*Horizon Micro Farm with fresh and tasty microgreens that can be eaten as is or used in many ways to enhance your food experience. Kelly can tell you why microgreens are “the best thing you’ve never tried yet”!
*Lost Temple Nursery LLC will bring live blueberry plants and live raspberry plants, lavender, American elderberry, potted garden, yard, and house plants in different varieties and colors, including native plants, plants that support pollinators, and some trees and shrubs. Not sure what something is, or what to do with it? Ask them! If you don’t see them at market, and need something right away, visit/message their FB page!
*Sunshine & Succulents has ended their market season, though we may see them at September’s Night Market. Thank you for a wonderful time, Cindy!
*The Posie Patch will be here with their famous cut flowers, dried flowers, and dried wreaths in season. Do you know that you can call them and place your order ahead of time? HANDMADE SOAP:
*Deep Well Farm has brought back MYSTERY BUNDLES (special $3 bags filled with several surprise soaps). They also made a new batch of three tallow lotions: unscented whipped tallow, Sandalwood scented whipped tallow, and Pineapple scented whipped tallow. Magnesium body butter, a limited amount of duck eggs, plus their regular scented and unscented soaps made with goat's milk, Jersey cow milk, and tallow, and (new product) sheep wool for gardening or birding. Come talk to Cora and learn more about what people do with a bag full of sheep wool! There *may* be a surprise animal guest near Deep Well’s booth at any time this summer; it is dependent on the weather.
LOCALLY MADE PRODUCTS TO EAT AND DRINK
*The Pickled Pimp uses locally grown vegetables and are veteran-owned, with flavors that include Sweet Heat, Sweet Horseradish Onion, Abe’s Kosher Dill, Vampire Killa’s, Spicy Dill, and Bread and Butta. Find them on Facebook!
Hess Maple Products are available through Blue Barn Farm this summer.
*The814Distillery will not attend this summer’s markets, and we’re sorry to lose them. We are looking for another local distillery.
*The Skirted Soldier and their sister company Blue K**b Farm have delicious and good smelling/useful products, made with raw materials from PA veteran-owned farms. We ran out of time to share their complete list here, but look for 250 Blend – Birthday Cake Rooibos, Neutral Zone – Caramel Walnut Rooibos, Berry Brigade – Cherry Berry Tisane, Banana Barrage – Banana Coconut Rooibos, Patriot – Vanilla Cinnamon Black Tea, Homecoming – Hummingbird Cake Black Tea, Colonel – Caramel Pecan Black Tea, and Mocha Maneuver – Chocolate Marshmallow Black Tea. HANDICRAFTS/FIBER ARTS
*Claudia's Crafts has handmade homegood products including towels and casserole carriers to show you. Her beautifully made items (especially her scrubbies and washcloths) make great presents and are mainstays for the kitchen and home. Handmade leather goods, made by Chris, will also be on display. Check out the leather work that Chris entered in our local farm shows (of course he won awards, because his work is beautiful!)
FEATURED NONPROFITS/ORGANIZATIONS:
Hollidaysburg Area Arts Council will be on site with info about their fall events. Look in the window of CopyRite for a new display about famous artist Mary Cassatt and her connection with Hollidaysburg.
The Allegheny Ukulele Kollective will be on site, providing some live music 11:30-1:30.
