Attention Local Businesses:
After many years of operating my business, I recently received my first fake bill. It was identified by the bank during a deposit. I want to share this experience as a reminder for others to stay alert.

The bill looks and feels real at first glance, but upon closer inspection, it reads “For Motion Picture Purposes” in the top right corner and on the back. Once it was pointed out to me, the differences became clear.

I hope the customer who used it was unaware and that it was an honest mistake. Still, it’s a good reminder for all of us to double-check cash payments—these bills can be surprisingly convincing.
