We're Hiring! 🥩🔪
Position: Butcher / Meat Cutter
Location: Holton Meat Processing (30 min North of Topeka, KS)
Starting Pay: $20/hr
Hours: Mon-Fri, Full Time and Part Time
We are seeking a skilled and motivated butcher / meat cutter to join our team at Holton Meat Processing. The ideal candidate prepares, cuts and packages various meats, ensuring high-quality products for our customers. Individual must maintain cleanliness and organization within the work environment. On the job training provided.
Responsibilities:
✅ Break down carcasses, cut, trim, prepare meat cuts according to customer orders or company standards
✅ Operate and maintain equipment (knives, saws, grinders, etc)
✅ Process meats for retail packaging and display, ensuring they meet safety and quality standards
✅ Ensure proper storage of meat products, including temperature control and organization of inventory
✅ Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, following health and safety regulations
✅ Communicate efficiently with team to ensure proper labeling for all meat products
✅ Adhere to food safety protocols and guidelines
✅ Assist customers as needed
Qualifications:
👨🏽‍🏫 Previous experience as butcher or meat cutter is preferred but not required (on the job training provided)
🥩 Knowledge of different cuts of meat and meat processing techniques
🔪Ability to use butchering tools and equipment safely and efficiently
🕵️‍♂️ Strong attention to detail and quality
💪🏼 Physical ability to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy items (50+ lbs)
👏 Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and part of a team
👷‍♂️ Basic understanding of food safety regulations
Compensation:
💵 Starts at $20.00/hr. Rapid rate increases with proven knowledge, experience and skill.
