Timber Creek Pastures offers a wide selection of products throughout the growing season. We offer pasture raised meat chickens that are fed local Kansas non gmo grain to go with their foraging on pasture. We have fresh and whole frozen chickens most of the year. We offer eggs from our pasture raised laying hens, that are also supplemented with local Kansas non gmo feed. We also have some excellent
pork! We have raised heritage breed Large Black pigs in the woods that surround our pastures. These pigs are given all the room they want to forage on what nature has to offer. We sell our pigs by the side and by the cut. Lastly, we have grass-fed and finished Red Angus beef that we sell by the half, quarter, and by the cut. We strive to keep our animals hormone and antibiotic free. We are not a certified organic farm but will be using organic methods with the goal of being certified organic in three years. We do not have any kind of fruit or vegetable production in place yet but hope that will change in the future. We would like to offer some kind of CSA that would include both meat and veggies. Now that you know what kind of farm we are, and what we are selling, here is a little bit about the people that are doing the farming:
The farm is run by myself (Alan) and my business partner Jesse. I am a transplant to Kansas, originally from Florida, and coming to the state via the U.S. Before I decided I wanted to be a farmer I was a scout in the Army and served two tours in Iraq. I got out of the military and began going to school at Kansas State where I studied horticulture with an emphasis on fruit and vegetable production. The more I learned about agriculture, the more I wanted to do it myself, and do it more sustainably. This farm is the start of my dream to being able to accomplish just that.
