Honeoye Falls Marketplace:
Honeoye Falls Marketplace opened in June of 1983 in a twenty-six thousand square foot facility. We operated under the Banner of Bells then and changed our name to Honeoye Falls Marketplace in 1997 after a major expansion and remodel was completed of the facility. The new store name and expanded brand new thirty-seven thousand square foot store brought a new bakery, expa
nded Deli and prepared foods, and a market-style produce department to the growing Honeoye Falls Community. The additional space also allowed us to expand our specialty and organic foods lines, meeting the needs of consumers who wanted more than mayonnaise and milk. Being a strong corporate citizen and good neighbor has been the cornerstone of our business model since the inception of our company. Last year Honeoye Falls Marketplace donated over $40,000.00 to charitable and civic groups in the community. We feel it is incumbent upon us to be an outstanding neighbor to a community that has chosen us to be its neighborhood market. Today we are focused on purveying healthier food for the many consumers who are finding life-prolonging benefits in eating a more natural and organic diet. In addition to Organic Foods, Honeoye Falls Market Place has begun a campaign called Easy to Eat Well (EEW). We have hired a nutritionist and have identified specific foods in our store as EEW. A food product signed with our EEW logo has numerous health benefits and lacks artificial ingredients, transfats, or high fructose corn syrup. We currently sponsor EEW cooking classes and offer individual nutrition coaching to help our customers live longer healthier, and fuller lives. While we have only been developing this program for a year now, our company has been praised as a health and wellness education leader due to the effort, integrity, and creativity we have injected into the topic. Mendon Meadows Marketplace:
Opened in the Hamlet of Mendon in 2001. The Hamlet community had been without a grocery store for over four years, and the lack of a purveyor of food began to drag on the vitality of the community at large. The Mendon store is 16,000 square feet, but we pack an enormous variety into the small space, including a full-service butcher shop, service seafood department, Bakery, and Deli. The Mendon Store has also been an outstanding community advocate. This year we ran a Perx Card for Education program whereby Mendon participated with Honeoye Falls in donating $10,000.00 (ten thousand dollars) to the HF-L School District. The school district can use this money to purchase educational equipment ranging from microscopes to wrestling mats. Our meat Department has done a wonderful job marketing and selling U.S.D.A. Angus Beef is far superior to most supermarket grades of beef due to the quality of feed given to the cattle, which produces more flavorful and tender cuts of beef. Mendon Meadows Marketplace has become known for purveying only the best meat and poultry in an environment of service and respect. Our business model leverages modern facilities and dedicated staff bringing forth a positive and quality-centered shopping experience in an environment of consummate community benevolence.
