Releasing our ducks into lo’i to help eradicate the dreaded Apple Snails! My mom raises them from ducklings until they are ready to be released! 14 in the first batch and 16 in the second! Gotta keep finding ways to overcome the obstacles! 🙌🏽🦆

She was the first “Poi Baby” for Mokuwai Piko Poi! Her parents created an amazing reason for us to strive and revive a part of us that was called KULEANA! I am blessed to have shared this amazing moment with an amazing Wahine that was once my baby girl! Blessed that she enhances our lives with her amazing Kane! We love you both! Thank you for your love and support! For taking time to spend with us! Love you Pretty and Koa!!!

Moments when I pause to process all the blessings in my life! Connections that turn into ‘Ohana…that turn into a LIFETIME! The journey that once was unbearable turned into an abundance of opportunities! Sometimes it’s just the way we perceive a situation that turns it from negative to positive! I was blessed the day Baba came into my life and shared this with me. Showing me anything we put our heart and mind to is possible! The story behind our poi pops… It all started in 2017! A dream to create a grab and go poi option! So I decided to put it in a tube…but how were we going to get it in there? It started with a tooth brush holder and a turkey baster! Our first order was for 75 poi pops and the pressure was intense…I barely made the time set for delivery! My Dad believed in my dream and fabricated a bagger for me! Then the next opportunity was for 400 plus to Ka Umeke School! They wanted this weekly to feed the students! My first delivery was on May 2, 2018…fast forward to June/July 2024 our order was 10,500 pops every other week! We now had made a commitment that I could only dream of! However the reality was now in my hands! I’m not going to lie it was definitely a moment of growth in so many ways! My greatest lesson learnt is in order to succeed you can’t have the word cannot in your vocabulary! Most of all you must focus on the positive and NOT entertain the negative! When people tell you that you’re crazy EMBRACE IT AS A COMPLIMENT! Only those that are crazy take risks that help them to grow! DREAM SO BIG THAT IT SCARES YOU!!!!
