What happens at the farm between shopping days? Well….a lot of fixin’!!! 🔧

Bubbsy had a tire blow with a full load of Bartlett pears at the most inconvenient time- close to the scales closing for the day!!!
He was able to get the spare on and get the load in, just a little late. ⏰ AMAZING tenacity to get that kind of job done after a loooong hot day in the truck. The pears are better off thanks to his drive to fix the problem.

After he is done hailing fruit during the day…he is getting maintence done on other essential machinery.
This guy is putting in crazy hours right now to keep the farm(s) rolling.

I help how I can by towing smaller pieces of machinery to the shop! 😂🙌
The four wheeler is a great way for us to put our empty bins- and Anjou’s harvest if hot on our heels!! Hoping the red four wheeler can zoom again soon!!

Picking more peaches this morning for you to take home and enjoy! Maybe a Sunday peach cobbler is in your future!

Maybe all you have time for is to stand over a sink and let the juice fall from every bite.

Maybe you need a box to slice and put in the freezer! Boiling water, dipping the peaches in for 1-2 minutes and running under cold water makes the skins slip off for easy slicing!

For the first full weekend of having pears in the stand…I am offering 20 lb boxes for $18 on Starkcrimsons and Bartletts! Come help me empty some partial bins of fruit!

Since these were just picked or being picked Saturday am, they will need 7-10 days to ripen at room temp.

Leave in a cold fridge and take out as needed.
Great to have on hand as school gets back underway!

Well….10 years went fast!
Same as 2016, we are in Bartletts now in 2026 and this am was too crazy for a photo together…

The day of our wedding, Bubbsy was hauling fruit in the big truck. He got cleaned up and made it in time for the ceremony! 🤣

Fun to think about that day and all the work our family and friends put into the wedding! 🧡

Looking through the photos, we have lost several of our family members and close family friends. A very important reminder to take time to celebrate the good things in life.

Let Love Grow was our theme, and by no stretch of the imagination a marriage is similar to a farm…the amount of attention and constant tending is critical. Both farming and relationships keep me humble- as there is SO MUCH to learn to be successful at both.

Looooong harvest day.
Crew did great getting the beautiful Bartletts off the trees.
I focused on peaches…all…day….long.
Luckily after a little boredom, things of interest find their way to a young boy. He did not stay slumped on the Kubota all day.
We checked on the baby bird nest, saw our baby deer friends, and found lots of dirt to move with the dump truck.
So many peaches is good news for you guys!
Lots of boxes of peaches available this weekend. 2nds too! These peaches are freestone and would be great for canning or slicing to freeze.
Also harvested late season Donuts- which are almost half a lb each- will be ready to go home with you too!

Everyone is going to bed tired tonight. 😮‍💨

Starkcrimson pears is one of my FAVORITES!!!

This summer pear is harvested now, with a purple hue, as it ripens it turns a crimson red color.

The flavor is lite and sweetly aromatic.
Keep your eyes peeled for this variety in stores and farm stands near you!!!

Their season is short so do not hesitate to pick up these beauties asap!

Glad to have the help from my boys this evening to get these pears harvested!
