Hello! Thank you so much for supporting the farmstand last summer! It was an amazing experience and we learned a lot about how to prioritize our goals of bringing farm fresh goods to the good people of the gorge. Due to family needs, we did not open the Alpenglow Farmstand in the same format of 6 days a week this summer. However, we do want to host a few farmstand markets this summer and hope you can join. Our goal is to trial a monthly farmstand night and highlight in-season goods from our farm and our dear local farmers you have come to know.
Our first event will be next Thursday July 24th for a late-afternoon and evening market (4:00-9:00pm). We will highlight the end of cherry season and the beginning of peach season. In addition to cherries and peaches, we will have freshly cured garlic varieties (elephant garlic, softneck and hardneck varieties) and blueberries from the Alpenglow fields. Hood River Cider Company is excited to share their amazing local hard ciders both for sale on-site and tastings. We will also have our regular farm contributors offering eggs, veggies, fruit, and flowers and fan favorite Blossom Baking will be showcasing fresh baked goods. We plan for some music and lawn games, so please plan to either stop in on the way to or from the fair, or stay a while.
We hope to do a similar event in mid-August (peaches, early pears, and early Honeycrisp apples, veggies), mid-September (pears, more early apples), and mid-October (lots of apples and pears, gourds and fall goods).
For the Thursday, July 24th, Farmstand Market, we would welcome pre-orders of 13 lb boxes of sweetheart cherries ($20), 10-pound flats of Redhaven peaches ($15), and cases, half cases, or various bottles of hard ciders (solo apple, red cherry, rainier cherry, hopped, and heritage blend) so we can make sure we have enough for everyone. For pre-orders, prices, or questions about cherries, peaches, and cider you can email Jason at [email protected].
If you are a farmer contributor and want to join in, just send us a pm! Thank you for supporting our farming group. We hope to keep the community vibe going as we adjust and try out new ways to connect and offer farm direct goodness!
