There's some new additions to the ranch...

🐏Meet Carol, Linda, Janet and Melman🐑

These sweet ladies(and our ram) are a special breed called Valais - Black Nose sheep
This breed is a dual purpose breed - meaning not only can you harvest their wool, but their meat is also exceptional!

Stay tuned for what we have planned for their futures...(hint: a new product will be offered, no we are not eating these girls)

Branding season has quickly approached and been amazing with great help!

These are days for us to get the calves identification figured out. They recieve an EID (Electronic Identification) and a brand - to mark they are ours.

Brandings are especially important in today's times with the price of cattle being as high as it is.

There's a few more brandings left for the year! Including one more ranch, Rising Heart Ranch, Soaring TS and our personal herd!

Here's one of the most recent calves born. She's a beautiful silver color out of a Wagyu bull (if you've ever had Wagyu meat, you know why im so excited)

Before we know it, itll be time to turn bulls back out!

Calving for our herd has "officially" started, the girls are really starting to crank them out!

One of Riley's heifers blessed him with twins, one RED Bull calf and one BLACK heifer calf! Unfortunately with twins being a bull and heifer pair, the heifer will be a free martin. Free martins are typically infertile due to sharing hormones with the bull calf.

My heifer (courtesy of Cindy Lee) gifted me with a copy and paste red roan heifer.

And Riley's cow blew everyone out of the water with a 109lb calf!

Tonight's (and every mornings) agenda....bottle babies 🥴

Some people love them...some people get tired of feeding 8 of them multiple times a day (me🙋‍♀️)

Each of these kiddos has a different story of why mom is now me.

One being heifer failing to provide enough milk
Two being cow off her rocker (psycho)
Three being the heifer pr*****ed
Four being a Cesarean..with yup you guessed it, heifer not making it
Five heifer flat out rejecting her..running her over, ramming her, not great mothering ability 🥴
Six being a goat kid..Cathy..which had wonky front legs and her first time mom wanted her twin and not her..so lucky me, I'm now mom.
Seven and eight being piglets..which yes you can bottle feed. Complications with the sow meant i got to raise them for her.

Who said ranching wasnt fun? 🙃🤣
