We're not the biggest market in town but make up for it with the highest quality of offerings.

Good morning fellow Oakies, the polar vortex is on it's way, not. But just in case y'all may want to stock up on sustainable veggies to improve your immune system. Farmer Cathy has a bounty of broccoli and other delicious offerings this morning along with plenty of free range eggs.

Austin will be on hand with micro greens and handmade compost. Sophia is out for another week enjoying the fruits of her labour's in sunny Florida.

And nothing goes better with cold weather than a hearty bowl of stew. This week I've made a Mexican stew of yellow squash, tomatoes and pork that is mildly spicy along with frozen pints of lamb stew and Tuscan bean soup with Italian sausage. And of course I'll be slinging breakfast tacos, migas and omelets all morning long.

The Farmstand is located at 949 Wakefield Drive across from Decant Urban Winery and Great Heights Brewing Company. The hours are from ninish until 1pm every Saturday, rain or shine.

Good morning fellow Oakies! This could possibly be the last hospitable weekend before the onset of the summer heat. Let's face it generally we skip right over spring and plunge right into summer. So why not come by and grab some breakfast along with Sophia's homemade granola and baked goods. Farmer Cathy will have free range eggs and whatever veggies a sustainable farmer can produce at this time of year.

This Saturday at the Farmstand will be the annual appearance of this year's crop of baby goats. Farmer Cathy will be bringing at least two this time around so they'll be plenty of baby goat love to go around. I'm not saying this is your last chance but it will be their frist and last visit as they're getting a bit large to transport. There were however two surprise goats 🐐 born a week or two ago and if you ask nicely Cathy may be inclined to bring those for a visit later in the month.

It's just us chickens tomorrow, Farmer Cathy and I we be holding down the fort as Sophia will be out on school business. She have free range eggs and whatever veggies a sustainable farm can provide at this time of year. I'll be slinging breakfast tacos, migas and omelets until 1pm.

Good morning fellow Oakies, it appears the rain has subsided. So join us this morning at The Farmstand.

Farmer Cathy will be on hand with what ever veggies a sustainable farmer can produce this time of year along with free range chicken eggs.

I've been busy making soup this week and it's the perfect weather for it. This week's offerings are a choice between, winter squash flavoured with roasted garlic and ginger or creamy tomato basil. Both come with croutons or crostini toasts.

We're located at 949 Wakefield Drive across from Decant Urban Winery and Great Heights Brewing Company. Our hours today are ninish to 1pm.

Good morning fellow Oakies, while shopping yesterday I needed a dozen eggs to fill a special order. Since there wasn't a market last because of the freezing temperatures and I out of eggs from Farmer Cathy's egg producers (the hens). I found myself gobsmacked at the price of what we refer to as imposter eggs, $6.99 for an 18 count carton. That's thirty-eight cents each or $4.56 a dozen. Either Farmer Cathy isn't charging enough or the world's gone mad. Either way why wouldn't you pay less than a buck fifty to support a local farmer and get an a better and honest product. She should be in fairly good supply after skipping the aforementioned market. And she tells me that some veggies were spared from old man winter.

I'll be on hand slinging breakfast tacos, migas and omelets until noonish today and had enough honest eggs to produce two quiches one with bacon and one without they include spinach and a two cheese blend.

Sadly I'm here to report there will not be a Farmer's market tomorrow on account of the freeze. We'll be back next Saturday, New Year's eve morning with plenty of free range eggs and whatever vegetables old man winter has spared. I'll take advantage of the hunkering down and restock Mickey's Pint Size Pantry with lots of soups and other goodies.

Good morning fellow Oakies were joined this week by my little mom and sister. She has spent a lifetime gathering beautiful Christmas decorations and is ready to sell them off cheap. Come on by and meet the woman that made me in the man I am today.

Farmer Cathy should be in good supply of free range chicken eggs and whatever veggies a sustainable farm can supply at this time year. Sophia is also on hand with her homemade granola and delicious quick breads as well.

I on the other hand will be slinging breakfast tacos and omelettes all morning long until 1pm. And of course we're still collecting gently used pumpkins for the farm animals.

Were going to need a bigger trailer! And a bucket brigade to load all the pumpkins that magically appeared under the old oak tree since last Saturday. We can hardly wait to see what tomorrow's bounty will be like.

In other market news it be Farmer Cathy and myself tomorrow morning, Sophia has a school function to attend and will return next week with her super tasty and beautiful baked goods along with the ever popular granola mix.

Cathy will have a colourful selection of the first of the winter greens, think kale, arugula and maybe some broccoli greens and free range chicken eggs of course.

I on the other hand will be slinging breakfast tacos, migas and omelettes all morning long until 1pm. This week in my pint size pantry there will be two versions of quiche Lorraine, one with bacon and one without. This week they'll be pint sized as well, think of them as personalized portions. I'll also have two kinds of hummus, lemony garlic and roasted red pepper. They be available in half pints and you'll have a choice of crostini toasts or sliced cucumbers for dipping.

Greetings fellow Oakies the pumpkin express is ready to roll beginning tomorrow at your local farmers market. If you're done with your gently used pumpkins from Thanksgiving Farmer Cathy and her host of animals are ready to receive them. I'll be bringing the trailer each and every Saturday morning rain or shine from 9am until 1pm to The Farmstand of Greater Heights located at 949 Wakefield Drive across from Decant Urban Winery and Great Heights Brewing company to aid in said transportation.

It will just be us chickens this week, meaning just Cathy and myself. She'll have free range chicken eggs along with whatever veggies a sustainable farm can supply at this time including arugula, swiss chard and other winter greens.

I on the other hand will be slinging breakfast tacos and omelettes all morning along with my new Mickey's pint size pantry items. The pickings are a little slim this week due to my marathon baking session. Thanks to everyone who purchased from me for their Holiday table.

Greetings fellow Oakies, after this front passes we're in store for a brisk morning at the farmers market. Farmer Cathy will have possibly the last of the summer okra and eggplant along with the beginning of the fall veggies including rainbow chard, arugula and kale. She also have pickled okra, dill relish and of course free range chicken eggs.

Local young entrepreneur Sofia will be on hand with her homemade granola and delicious quick breads. And if your done with them pumpkins bring them by the market and we'll feed them to the chickens and momma goats at the farm.

I'll be cooking breakfast tacos and omelettes all morning long along my new Mickey's pint size pantry which will include some hearty soups like chicken tortilla and Tuscan bean soup made with Farmer Cathy's kale.

Change of plans this morning. The building were we have our market is being painted. So Farmer Cathy and I will be across the street next to Decant Urban Winery and will be setting up a later than normal.
