We won.
And we did it while honoring our family.
Recently, we were part of a vegan cook-off here in Houston. We built this dish from the ground up using ingredients sourced from local farms across the city. Our team showed up. From the garden, to prepping, to building out the full experience at our table, everybody played a role in bringing this together.
The dish came together with coconut jasmine rice, charred vegetables, and our herb pupâlayered with a herb cream sauce and finishing sauce. They didnât just show up on the plate eitherâthey were right there with us, cooking, prepping, and sharing their work with the community.
We dedicated it to Grandpa Wardell, and the judges experienced it on china that once belonged to himâso yeah, this one carried meaning.
So while yesâwe won the inaugural vegan cook-off, what stays with us is the process, the people, and the reminder that food can carry legacy, community, and purpose all at once. Moments like this remind us why weâre building what weâre building.
Grateful for the team, the partners, and the community that continues to show up with us.
Shoutout to for hosting such a great event.
