Two pounds of green beans snapped, washed, blanched and frozen. The best part? My girls helped me every step of the way! (Except for the boiling part). They were there when I planted the seeds, watered the garden, and helped me pick all of these beans. I taught them how to snap the beans, remove the strings and check for bugs. Now let's hope they eat them. 🤣

Not a bad haul for a garden that's 98% weeds. 😅

I have TONS of green tomatoes that I'm very impatiently waiting to ripen, the tiniest little watermelon and more flowers blooming every day! One of these days I'll figure out how to manage these weeds and everything else I grow will prosper but this is not the year unfortunately. 😬

On a side note, I will ALWAYS grow beans and cucumbers on a trellis from now on! Harvesting is so much easier! Getting a little better at gardening every year! 🌱

The farm stand is open!!

We have sourdough maple pecan granola, chocolate chip cookies, sourdough starter, sourdough artisan bread, sourdough maple cinnamon roll focaccia, flowers, wood & cast iron balms and FREE book!

We are SO thankful for everyone who stopped out yesterday and the notes you leave are always such a blessing! ♥️

Unfortunately we were at least $66 short yesterday and we were missing quite a few car & closet diffusers, including some of the display scents and hooks. I hope it was a simple mistake so if you stopped by yesterday, can you do me a huge favor and check to see if maybe your venmo or PayPal transaction went through?

We appreciate each and every person who has stopped out, liked our posts, and spread the word to support our little homestead! Whether the discrepancy was an honest mistake or intentional, we won't let it discourage us! We love this community and pray the Lord allows us to keep showing up for you! ♥️

Good news! We'll be participating in the Kent County Farm Stand Trail again this weekend! Unfortunately I have a couple of prior commitments so we will NOT be open on Friday but plan on fully stocking the stand on Saturday and Sunday! Depending on how things go, here's the tentative lineup:

Just over here raising babies and growing carrots!

I swore I would never grow carrots again. I'd never had a successful harvest until this year!

You see, I have a bad habit of throwing seeds in the ground and hoping for the best. 😬 Turns out carrots are heavy feeders. So I threw some extra composted manure on them and then fertilized with garden tone and voila! My first successful harvest!

I'm so glad my four year old daughter was with me for this harvest. We don't have any neighbors within earshot but i swear they could hear all the whooping and hollering every time we pulled up a good sized carrot! I'm hoping to get one more round in this year for a fall harvest. 🍂🥕

Pumpkin spice sourdough bread, sourdough maple cinnamon roll focaccia, carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, molasses cookies, spiced pumpkin cupcakes, sourdough bread bowls for soup, warm apple crisp with vanilla ice cream...
