Hello friends. Times are changing.
Unfortunately I’m announcing that we will not be renewing our lease in Hudson, and will be closing the store April 26. To be clear this only applies to our Hudson location.
There are several reasons for this decision but two primary ones:
1) We pay a premium in rent, yet we see 2/3 of the foot traffic compared to our Cuyahoga Falls store (where our rent is significantly lower per month).
2) Our online and food truck sales are growing, and our overall company sales remain strong. However, Hudson has struggled to return to its pre-covid sales levels. We’ve been using the profits from the higher-performing areas of the company to keep it solvent.
It doesn’t make sense to continue operating like that.
I have enjoyed meeting many of you over the past 6 years. Hudson is one of the nicest, friendliest communities in Ohio.
We will be selling all of our popcorn at discount this Thursday through Sunday as a way of thanking you.
We will continue to serve the area through our Popcorn Trucks, Popcorn Fundraiser and MetropolisOhio.com. And we’d love for you to visit us at our store in the Falls.
I will be at the shop this Friday from 11-3 if anyone would like to ask questions in person.
