Honest question for y’all…

How many of you actually like pumpkin pie (or pumpkin pie spice flavor in general)?
Is it something you get excited about every fall and Thanksgiving… or are you just politely eating it because it’s “the season”?
I’m not a huge fan myself, but I know a lot of folks are. It’s a total house divided around here, some of us go crazy for it, and the rest of us are just kind of… meh. 😅 I’ll be 💯 transparent I looooove love pumpkins(growing and decor) just not huge on the taste.
Curious where y’all stand or what your honest opinions are.

Marans pen update…..

We swapped out the rooster and added a few new pullets, and these girls are looking better by the day. Their eggs are coming in heavy with that beautiful bloom.
Nothing beats collecting these dark beauties. We still have a long way to go improving that pen, but wow!

If only the picture truly did them justice.

Freeze dried Strawberry Delight Bites are running now. ❤️🍓

The anticipation until this batch is done 😅

I believe these should pass the taste testers with ease. They should be a great little treat/snack to pack with deer season and trail rides ahead of us.

Freeze dryer fun evening in store but first we sanitize and clean. 💪

The fun yet not so fun chore before we run the next batch. It’s not that difficult at all tbh but crucial in food safety, keeping our machine running smoothly, and to ensure that each batch is amazing for you all.

Any guesses what we are doing next?

The Meat Wagon is headed to her new family.

She’s going to the best home, where three little blonde headed, blue eyed babies will pack her full of birds and love her.
Those same babies might have tried to con us out of some turkeys, but they only ended up taking one of our young Roos home. 😅

As hard as it was to watch her go (and maybe a few tears were shed), we know this family will be blessed the same way we were. They will be able to provide meat for their family and use her to move their birds on pasture, giving them the best life possible while keeping them safe in the Meat Wagon.

Here’s to goodbye to the ole faithful Meat Wagon. 🐓
