Just a friendly reminder to make a plan to defrost those tasty Holiday cuts! If your meat is still in the freezer, it's time to make a plan and move it to the fridge! Whether your making a Turkey, Prime Rib, Lamb Roast, Duck or any other delicious meat! No one wants to wake up to something half frozen the day of...
Check Out These 2 Thawing Methods 👇
✔Thaw in the Fridge
The best way to thaw, is in the fridge for a consistent temperature. Letting your turkey thaw in the fridge is the easiest method and it’s totally hands off but it does take some time. Place in a roasting pan and let it thaw. Allow about 1 day for each 4 to 5 pounds of weight! So start making that plan and room in the fridge.
✔Thaw in Cold Water
If you're running short on time, the faster way is to thaw in cold water. Submerge the frozen meat in cold water and leave wrapped in its packaging. However, make sure the packaging is tightly sealed. If not, you can put the meat in a large sealed plastic bag to defrost. Do not add warm or hot water to speed up thawing! Change cold water every 30 minutes. Plan about 30 minutes for every pound of meat.
