Our Story

Welcome to Clear Creek Farm Hatchery! We are just starting out and wanted to share our story from the very beginning all the way to wherever this venture leads us. We hope you will enjoy our posts and maybe even learn a thing or two about chickens! Feel free to comment or ask questions any time! We'd love to hear about your chickens and any rare breeds you may have. Feel free to share if you have any chickens or hatching eggs for sale.

Many of you know Lori and I (Lynn), but maybe not all of you. I met Lori a looooong time ago as a Walmart associate. We were friends and enjoyed some good conversations. Turns out that Walmart and I didn't get along too well and I went off to start grooming dogs.

Lori and I kept in touch off and on through FB. We were reunited years later when Kathy Deaton (also an administrator for the page) and I adopted a horse to Lori. Turns out the three of us have a lot in common! Mostly, horses and CHICKENS! 😂😂 As the years went by, the three of us became very close friends. Actually, we don't think of each other as friends, but as sisters. Are we blessed or what?

Eventually, I found myself trying to find a hobby that wasn't going to break the bank (horses come close!). If it made money, so much the better, but having fun was very important. That's where CCFH comes in. I hatched (pun intended) a plan and Lori was crazy enough to jump in with me. Kathy is loyal and provides endless encouragement and helps with the FB page but doesn't share the same passion for chickens as Lori and I do (maybe she has more sense? Lol).

We decided to start the FB page and, before we knew it, we had almost 100 likes and a waiting list. Did you get that...A WAITING LIST!! We are both so excited and are so proud to have our husbands Mitch and Rob (whom I'm sure you'll hear mentioned often) by our sides and helping any way they can.

Any way, I just wanted to tell you our story and let you know who it is you are doing business with. We have big plans at both our farms to add coops for our breeding stock, more brooders for chicks and to add new breeds of fowl as we go. As I write this, we are excitedly awaiting our first (and maybe last) hatch of Quail with our new incubator, due to start hatching tomorrow (anyone want some Quail?). Three more batches of chicks follow closely behind the Quail. Omgosh I can't wait!! (EDIT 12 of 15 Quail eggs hatched!! WooHoo! Our first chick just now hatched from our first batch. HOW EXCITING!!)
