Time for a Post Post!
I finally got the first batch of posts in place for my new windbreak. My first windbreak was temporary and did not last long. I did not cut corners this time. I used 10’ hedge posts with 6-8” tops, buried 3’ deep, and spaced 10’ feet apart. I charred the part that touches the soil, and plan to char the rest of each post later. Charring provides a barrier that helps to repel moisture and insects. Then I trimmed the posts to 6’6”.
